Li Shuwen arrived and explained his reasons.
"Let Huihui handle the Mad King Building's dream zone on her own. I want to turn my attention to NPC dreams and dig deeper!"
Li Shuwen's reasoning was simple and reasonable.
On the surface, there was nothing wrong with it.
But the reasons behind it were far more complicated.
Xu Lang ruled a Dormitory Building. He was no naive newcomer to office politics.
Nightmare Apostles benefited from frightening others. Li Shuwen's move looked like he was giving up a share of the spoils, but he was really positioning himself for greater gains later.
If Li Shuwen took charge of all NPC dreams now, future NPCs would fall under his authority too. Barring something unexpected, that arrangement would stick.
After all, he would already have staked his claim.
Wu Huihui probably knew that too, but she had agreed anyway. The two of them might have reached some tacit understanding.
As for the other Nightmare Apostles, Li Shuwen had given up player resources first in exchange for better prospects. That was defensible too.
"Have you thought this through?" Xu Lang asked.
There were not many NPCs at present, so Li Shuwen had few dreams he could invade.
"I have!" Li Shuwen replied.
"All right. From now on, you'll be in charge of NPC and monster dreams."
"Thank you, Building Lord!" Li Shuwen's face lit up. He was also surprised that Xu Lang had agreed so easily.
