However, he did not return to that previous town. Instead, he came to the gates of the largest small city beside the Aisby Mountains.
This city was called Aisby City, the northernmost city of the Changdu Empire.
Dole did not enter the city. He continued north into the Aisby Mountains. What he needed now was to live in seclusion; letting the Sacred Scarab avatar continue its activities was the true path.
Lying low was king.
The Aisby Mountains were an enormous mountain range, far larger than Mount Aya in Elfa World. Seen from above, their peaks rose one behind another, stretching beyond sight. In the distance, a massive mountain lay across the horizon, thrusting straight into the clouds. Half the range stood above the cloud layer, looking majestic, resplendent, and brimming with the poetic charm of a fairy tale.
According to local legend, an immensely powerful being lived atop the highest peak of this mountain range, though no one knew exactly what it was.
Dole passed Aisby City and walked into the mountains without looking back.
