Setting Sail

At the port of Abyss-Overlooking City, an enormous ship stood moored nearby. Entirely black and three decks tall, the Gu Yue resembled a moving pavilion compared to the other vessels around it—a true behemoth.

Looking out into the distance, quite a few ships had already set sail. Their sole destination was the Upperstream. Some smaller vessels, meanwhile, were exploring the waters of the Unsinking Sea.

Although all these ships had been built by the Gu Family, their quality varied. Generally speaking, ships needed to be at least Earth-grade to venture into the depths of the Unsinking Sea or head for the Upperstream, and nearly all Earth-grade vessels were monopolized by the various powers of Abyss-Overlooking Island.

These things were not consumables, either, which was a major reason why the Gu Family had never broken past its own limits.

Materials for Earth-grade ships were difficult to find. If the price had not been high enough, the Gu Family would never have gone to such lengths to build them. Yet now, in just three days, an Earth-grade ship had appeared out of nowhere, with the City Lord's Manor providing considerable assistance.

As for the reason, after learning that the Heaven Origin Sect was connected to the Esoteric Sect and that Bai Yu had even killed one of the Esoteric Sect's great powers, Jiang Mingsheng had promptly shown them the door. Both openly and subtly, he had urged Bai Yu to leave as soon as possible.
