The Blood Prison Dynasty is a Midstream superpower that rules vast territories through subordinate sects, dynasties, great families, armies, and regional power blocs. Even the Heavenly Demon Sect, an overlord of the lower reaches, is subordinate to it; a single decree from the dynasty throws the sect into turmoil and forces it to support the Supreme Great Wall 161.

It is one of Midstream's four supreme powers alongside the Grand Void Sect, Compassion Tranquility Retreat, and Wild Beast Domain. Of the Three Mountains and Four Sects in the lower reaches, the Heavenly Demon Sect is the Blood Prison Dynasty's sole direct subordinate sect 167.

Its true nature is later revealed: the dynasty is one of the Holy Heaven Cult's most important resource sites and an extension of the cult. Xiao Xuanxin, the former Blood Emperor, came from Holy Heaven Cult's Blood Peak and established the Blood Prison Dynasty in Midstream to supply the cult with resources and talent 688.
