It showed some signs of use-quite a few, in fact-but remained in excellent condition. The Dragonkin Girl had taken it out of a box, and apparently took good care of it when storing it.

Someone who was not a Wizard had produced a Spellbook, enthusiastically offered it to other Wizards, and strongly urged them to learn it.

Even Ruger's mouth, poised to sip his tea, closed a beat late.

Her offer to lend them the book for free so they could learn the spell did come with conditions, though they were fairly reasonable.
