Ruger blinked, braced himself against Zhizhi's insect shell, and sat up.
The round object tumbled through the air. Zhizhi's collision had given it tremendous momentum, sending it bounding merrily into the distance. It hit the ground, bounced up, fell again, and repeated the cycle.
"Did you get a good look?" Ruger asked.

He twisted around to look.
Mona's brows were slightly furrowed. Her face showed astonishment and disbelief, along with a trace of self-doubt.

Ruger raised his brows slightly. He knew she had seen it too, and that his own eyes had not deceived him. It really was a rolling head, one that had not rotted down to bare bone but was still covered in flesh.
