Chapter 343: Elimination and Differences

At a glance, very few of the Wizard Apprentices traveled in groups. Most walked silently, keeping some distance from one another.

Ruger widened his kobold eyes and looked around. Every Wizard Apprentice he could see nearby wore a bewildered expression. As for those farther away, even his somewhat unusual kobold eyes could not make out their expressions in this light, despite his now being a dragonborn kobold. In truth, he was very satisfied with the dragon blood he had bathed in. Others might have thought this mutant dragon had little to recommend it, merely making him stronger and improving his flesh's ability to recover, but from a Wizard's perspective, he rather liked this relatively pure mutant dragon blood with its limited side effects.

The scenery in the canyon was exceedingly monotonous. There was no telling how high the cliffs on either side rose, and even after they had walked for a long time, the farthest point they could see remained unchanged.

Naturally, the sky above, unobstructed by the cliffs, was brighter, though only to a limited degree. Against that pitiful light, the Wizards overhead were all tiny black dots, and it was impossible to tell whether they were moving along with the crowd.

Ruger had been thirsty for some time. He simply crushed a black fruit and used Freezing Ray to make a cup of shaved ice, eating it as he walked.

The sudden fluctuation of magic startled the nearby Wizard Apprentices.

Ruger merely smiled and continued taking big mouthfuls. Finding the fruit flavor too weak, he crushed another black fruit and drizzled it over the top.
