Barry Danton watched from the side with a faint smile, which meant Ruger and the others were watching as well.

Once again, Ruger had to marvel at the old Wizard's craftsmanship. He had originally thought only the jar-the Alchemical Puppet's head-was an oddity even on its own. Now, judging by what he saw, this finger was no mere functional alchemical implement either. It might be an oddity too. Every piece of this Alchemical Puppet was an oddity when taken apart. It was truly incredible, and showed how dearly the Cyclops had treasured it. He must have loved this Alchemical Puppet to have crafted it piece by piece.

Rumble!

After a somewhat painful process of manipulation, the oddity that looked more like a pillar than a finger had a new owner, and the Hexagonal Tower's door finally began to tremble.

All the Wizards watched the door as its vibrations shook the ground.

Ruger unconsciously drained another cup of Mushroom Tea. He tilted his huge head, still feeling that he had overlooked something.

Suddenly, Ruger remembered his earlier private jokes: how smashing this jar-head would never drain all its water, and how Barry Danton kept smashing it.

If breaking this jar-head allowed someone to leave, did that mean the Alchemical Puppet could leave when it was whole? Was it an oddity puppet capable of leaving the island on its own?

If so, it might also have performed other tasks for the Cyclops Wizard, such as carrying goods onto and off the island. Perhaps whenever guests visited, it smashed its head to let people in and out. Perhaps it had once had many Wizard friends, and would exchange a few words with visiting Wizards.

That made the whole thing seem even more twisted. Anyone visiting the island for the first time would surely
