In the quiet room.
"Will this really work, mighty Wizard Ruger?"
Path Seeker Green studied the rather bizarre wine cup before him intently. As he spoke, one side of the cup bulged, like a toad breathing, only with a smaller movement.
But knowing it was made from a Demon Heart, Ruger felt it looked more like a very slow heartbeat.
Ruger leaned closer to inspect it too. They were in the Spell Practice Area, gathered around the little round table where they had drunk tea before.
A one-ring spell, Inverted Cup.
After days of effort, with his learning speeding up once he had recovered, Ruger had finally mastered this rather unusual one-ring spell. Naturally, he could not keep such a wonderful thing to himself. And Green had happened to come visiting. This was fate's arrangement. How could Ruger let it slip by?
With a movement of his hand, a bottle of Finest Sour Mushroom Wine appeared. He lifted his eyes to glance at Green.
"Sir Green, this is another great exploration. I'm sure ordinary wine can hardly get you drunk anymore," Ruger said.
According to Green himself, this was his third visit, which was why Ruger had called it fate's arrangement. Everything was such a coincidence. His two previous visits had probably come to nothing because Ruger had happened to be in the Bedroom Space. This time, he had arrived just as Ruger successfully cast the spell. Ruger had not even had time to make a second cup.
"I have no desire to get drunk. I believe a wizard should remain clearheaded at all times, honored Lord Ruger," Green said.
"I agree. A wizard should remain clearheaded, which is why sometimes he'll understand, with perfect clarity, that he needs to get drunk. Yes, that's more or less what I mean.
