All she wanted was some hair that others had no use for. What a simple, peaceable soul.
In reality, however, creatures that could grow such unusual hair would themselves be rather unusual, and would still be prey for other Wizards. After all, she could only lure those creatures over, not make their hair float over on its own.
Of course, searching for unusual hair in a newborn world was indeed a good idea. Anything she found would most likely be absent from the Cavern World, and she would certainly face less conflict with other Wizards.
But unusual hair did not necessarily mean an exotic beast. Some exotic beasts still had ordinary hair, or no hair at all.
"The Fluffy Enthusiasts Association?" Ruger asked.
Tab smiled, lifted her teacup to her lips, and took a small sip.
"And how do you know I'm not a member of the Association?" Ruger asked.
"Sir, shrouded in spirituality as you are, you don't seem to have told me your name yet. I prefer using names. It feels more personal," Tab said with a smile.
"Oh, sorry. You can call me Ruger," he said, as though suddenly remembering.
The thought of introducing himself had crossed his mind, but other thoughts had distracted him.
"Your eyes, Master Ruger," she said, setting down her teacup. "When I mentioned that little trap, you seemed unfamiliar with it. It's no secret within the Association, though I have made a few improvements of my own."
Ruger raised his chin slightly, adopting a look of understanding.
Inwardly, however, he had thought of Wizard Jillian.
"If I may ask, a friend and I applied to join the Fluffy Enthusiasts Association several years ago, using an ancient item meant to recommend us," Ruger said, looking at her. "But we never received a response.
