Dati ran with long, bounding strides. She had every confidence in her endurance and speed, each step carrying her farther than most people could imagine, like an arrow hurtling straight ahead.
Though she was a Wizard, she loved nothing more than running flat out. To accommodate that habit, she had altered her Wizard Robe into a custom design and added a clever little Magic Array of her own invention. When she stood still, it hung down as an elegant, presentable robe. When she ran, it twisted like flower petals, its skirts wrapping separately around her legs.
She frowned slightly, unable to shake the feeling that a pair of eyes was watching her.
But that was no problem.
With that thought, she quickened her pace, keeping track of the distance. As she passed beneath a tree, she flicked her hand sharply, scattering a few almost imperceptible little things without ever breaking stride. Judging by her movements and bearing, this was clearly not her first time doing so.
This seemed to be the very reason she was running at full speed.
She continued to stride smoothly, her body stretching with a distinctive beauty and wildness. Yet, without realizing it, her brow furrowed ever deeper. The feeling of being watched had not vanished as she had expected. It was as though someone were following her at an unchanging speed, toying with her.
