Ruger had no intention of stopping. The unforeseen turn of events had forcibly turned him back into a cautious little kobold.
The shattering of his temporary Identity Stone had another benefit: as a kobold who had smuggled himself in, he was no longer anything special. At least for now, everyone was in the same situation. He could put on an act and mingle with them, posing as another kind, innocent, decent Wizard caught up in an unexpected disaster.
Of course, whether to mingle with them, and when, would depend on the circumstances.
In fact, he had a powerful option that none of the other Wizards possessed: he could bring out his teacher, whose condition had temporarily stabilized, to fend off danger for a while.

His powerful body endured the wrenching strain of abruptly changing course at such speed.

Unless the Black Wizard who came here was the deranged sort, they would certainly have made thorough preparations.
