In the end, only a single thread remained, following a prearranged passage into a palace complex far beyond the heavens in the distant Northern Wastes.
This was the Jade Firmament Celestial Palace, the legacy of the previous Boundless Void Divine Lord and also the place where Great Black Heavenly Buddha Mother Bodhisattva had first risen to prominence. To be safe, she had naturally left behind some foundations here in case of mishap, and now they were being put to use.
Within an inconspicuous side hall beside the central great hall stood what had once been a shrine to a certain deity. The divine seat was now empty, but a mass of rainbow light gathered above it and took shape, eventually becoming Great Black Heavenly Buddha Mother Bodhisattva in the form of a nun in black robes. Only after another moment did she begin to seem alive again.
