Among the Stars, within a certain star system known in the Gate World as the Land Where Gods Were Chased, two spacefaring vessels met. One resembled a cross, while the other was a perfect sphere, its body a twisted construct of machinery and flesh.

They represented two powerful factions of the Gate World: the Shepherds and the Council.

After the Council isolated the Collectors from the Gate World at the cost of the Holy Womb State and part of the Inari Radiant Empire's territory, war broke out between the Shepherds and the Council, the two supreme powers of the Gate World.

This war even showed signs of expanding. Both sides were actively courting other Seventh Tiers to join their camps and swiftly bolster their overall strength.

Yet at such a critical moment, the Council suddenly approached the Shepherds and expressed a desire to negotiate.

"Why did you come to us on your own? We are at war."

Death and casualties bred hatred. Not everyone could be as bizarre as the Collectors and remain indifferent to the deaths of their own kind.

Not to mention that the Council had been the original cause of this war.

"The Council hopes to end the war between us as quickly as possible, before everything becomes irreparable."

The Shepherds treated the Council's response with scorn. War was no child's game. Did they think it could simply stop because they said so? What about their kin who had died in the war?

"Do you think that's possible? You started this war, and now you want to end it."

"Why should we indulge your whims?"

As they spoke, they seemed to be making their stance clear—or perhaps they simply intended to flip the table and end the negotiations altogether.
