"Probability? I don't understand. Reversing an event's causality—even probability shouldn't be able to reverse the arrow of time in the primary universe."
The questioning individual could not understand what probability had to do with the Hui Civilization's apparent reversal of causality and backward flow of time.
Time and space were one entity, collectively called spacetime. Thus, when space was compressed, the passage of time slowed as well. This was commonly seen in near-light-speed travel and around black holes—the length contraction effect.
Time was likewise a relative pseudo-concept. Time did not exist; everything was merely a consequence of entropy. If the universe's entropy ever became zero, the entire universe would enter eternal stillness—the stagnation of time.
As for reversing time, that was equivalent to halting the motion of the entire universe. The energy required would exceed the sum total of all energy in the universe. If time reversal truly existed, then the energy that reversed time certainly did not originate from the universe's own system.
The questioning individual could not make sense of it. Could probability alone trigger an immense amount of energy surpassing the universe as a whole?
The answering individual replied.
"The reason you cannot understand is because you view all this as a single event. You need to separate it into countless independent events."
"The Hui Civilization conducting its experiment was an independent event. Their destruction was likewise an independent event. Everything was merely the result of coincidence."
That was right. It was merely coincidence. Whether the Hui Civilization had emerged from its home planet or whether it had been created by the Hui people, the formation of the memetic virus would not stop.
Everything was only a coincidence. It was like winning a million-dollar jackpot—could one say the winner had tampered with the lottery?
The destruction of
