After Bulma finished speaking, she turned and walked into Kame House. Looking at Ye Bai, Yamcha also spoke up. "Why? Ye Bai, do you have some unspeakable reason?"
This time, Ye Bai did not answer. He looked at Yamcha calmly and said, "Yamcha, take good care of her. Krillin and the others will be revived after some time. I'm leaving first."
Without waiting for a reply, he turned and flew into the distance, wondering as he flew whether things would have been different if he had secretly saved the two of them.
Back at Kame House, Yamcha watched Ye Bai leave before returning inside with the others. Bulma sat curled up in a corner of the sofa, hugging her knees in silence.
"Who was that Ye Bai just now? Is he strong?" As soon as he returned to the house, Tien Shinhan looked at Yamcha and asked.
"Yeah. I met Ye Bai when Goku first went out on an adventure. According to Goku, he found him near his home a long time ago."
"Ye Bai is a training fanatic, but he's usually very gentle. When he defeated Goku at the Twenty-First World Martial Arts Tournament, he told us that he was about a thousand times stronger than us. We'd only been apart for half a year or so then, yet he had already left us far behind. I have no idea how strong he is now, three years later," Yamcha explained to Tien Shinhan.
"What good is being that strong? When King Piccolo killed Krillin and the others, nobody even knew where he was," Oolong grumbled indignantly from the side.
No one noticed that, after hearing this, Bulma lowered her head even further in the corner.
Just then, the Dragon Balls placed some distance away began to recover and emit flickering light, drawing everyone's attention.
"The Dragon Balls... the Dragon Balls have recovered!" Bulma said, covering her mouth as she stared at the Dragon Balls on the table in the distance.
"Does that mean we can wish Krillin, Chiaotzu, and the others back to life?" Tien Shinhan asked excitedly.
"That's right. Let's take the Dragon Balls outside quickly and revive Krillin and the others," Yamcha said. He immediately got up, grabbed the Dragon Balls, and headed outside.
The others came to their senses and hurried after him. When they got outside, they found that Yamcha had already arranged the Dragon Balls neatly on the ground. Bulma quickly released the bodies of Master Roshi, Krillin, and Chiaotzu from a Capsule. Once the three bodies had been laid out, Yamcha began summoning Shenron.
"Come forth, Shenron!"
After summoning Shenron, Yamcha took two steps back. Under everyone's prayerful gazes, the Dragon Balls began to shine brilliantly. A bolt of lightning shot into the heavens, flashing between heaven and earth. Dark clouds blanketed the sky, and within them, a dragon-shaped shadow slowly emerged before gradually solidifying into a green Shenron.
"Weren't you dead, Shenron?" Bulma asked, clasping her hands as she looked up at Shenron in the sky.
"Son Goku specifically asked Kami, so I was revived."
"Son Goku is currently training in the Heavenly Realm for the next World Martial Arts Tournament. Ask him yourselves when you see him next."
"I will now grant your wish. Speak!"
With her hands clasped, Bulma made her wish to Shenron. "I wish for our companions who were killed by King Piccolo to return from the dead."
At that moment, Yamcha stepped forward. "Wait! Please revive all the innocent people killed by King Piccolo as well!"
Oolong asked Shenron in surprise, "That many people... is that okay?"
Shenron thought for a moment before saying, "Very well. I will revive every person killed by King Piccolo."
Shenron's red eyes flashed, and endless rays of light flew toward every corner of the world. Three of them shot into the bodies of Master Roshi, Chiaotzu, and Krillin below.
Everyone walked over to the preservation coffins temporarily holding the three bodies and slowly opened the lids. Inside, the three gradually opened their eyes and pushed themselves upright with their hands.
In the distance, Ye Bai watched Shenron vanish and turn into seven Dragon Balls that scattered in every direction. He reached out and caught the ray of light representing the Four-Star Dragon Ball in his palm, then vanished.
The joyous crowd in the distance did not notice this. From their conversation, they learned that Goku had defeated King Piccolo. Master Roshi said in disbelief, "Goku actually defeated King Piccolo? Where is that kid now?"
"We don't know either. Shenron said Goku is currently training in the Heavenly Realm," Yamcha explained.
"What? In the Heavenly Realm?" Master Roshi cried out in shock.
Seeing this, Tien Shinhan asked Master Roshi, "What exactly is going on? Do you know?"
"How could this be... I can hardly believe it. But if it's Goku, then nothing is impossible," Master Roshi said, trusting Goku even after his shock.
"What exactly is going on? Hurry up and tell us," Bulma urged Master Roshi to continue.
"I'm not entirely sure either. But if he's training in the Heavenly Realm, then the one teaching him... must be Kami!"
After their shock faded, everyone was fired up again and prepared to train even harder. But Oolong brought up Ye Bai at that moment.
"When we needed Ye Bai, there wasn't even a trace of him. Now that everything's over, he suddenly shows up again."
"You mean Ye Bai? He came back?" Master Roshi adjusted his sunglasses and lowered his head to look at Oolong.
"Yeah. He came by before you were revived and even said he had some reason why he couldn't act. Those were just excuses because he was scared," Oolong said unhappily.
"If it's Ye Bai, it probably wasn't fear. Maybe he really had some reason that prevented him from acting. That boy is the first person I've never been able to gauge, even now," Master Roshi said after pondering for a while.
Meanwhile, Ye Bai had already arrived at Bun Mountain. Rather than returning to Goku's home, he carved out a cave at the mountaintop and began placing some daily necessities inside. He still wore the weighted clothes he had taken from the temple. Though they were better than nothing, he had not thrown them away. Once he had tidied up the cave, he sat cross-legged before its entrance, ready to begin his training.
"It's time to raise my battle power. It hasn't increased much over these past three years—probably only around five hundred thousand. I'll aim to reach one hundred million in my normal state before Goku becomes a Super Saiyan. This body will reach adulthood in another two years. Then my battle power will truly begin to soar. It shouldn't be a problem."
Setting aside his thoughts, Ye Bai began circulating his energy to temper his body, shutting everything outside himself away—including time.
