Jackie Chun (Master Roshi) saw more than Goku did. His expression turned grave, and he did not even bother flirting with girls as he stared fixedly at Ye Bai from afar. As for Yamcha, there was really no need for him to be wary of Ye Bai, because he would not even make it into the next match.

Ye Bai looked at Goku and said, "Goku, if you want to fight me, you'll have to wait until the finals. No need to rush. Right now, you should be looking forward to your next opponent."

Just as Ye Bai remembered, Yamcha was sent flying by a single palm strike from Master Roshi. Nam successfully resisted Ranfan's temptation and won, while Goku defeated Giran and even grew his tail back. The four of them successfully advanced.

After the intermission, the competition resumed. Outside, the referee announced that the match between Ye Bai and Jackie Chun had officially begun.

"Please welcome contestant Jackie Chun and contestant Ye Bai!"

Hearing the announcement, Ye Bai looked toward Jackie Chun. Seeing him head out, Ye Bai hurried after him. Once he caught up, he quietly asked, "You're Master Roshi, aren't you? Jackie Chun is just an alias."

"Jackie Chun" paused before saying, "What Master Roshi? I'm Jackie Chun, not some Master Roshi."

Ye Bai directly exposed him. "Master Roshi, I figured it out long ago. I can sense the ki on your body. You're worried that Goku and Krillin are too young, and that if they win the championship, they'll become overly proud and stop focusing on training, right?"

"You can rest assured. Goku won't win the championship this time, and I won't tell them your identity either."

Only then did Master Roshi turn to look at Ye Bai. This time, however, he did not deny it. Instead, he nodded and said, "I'll surrender directly in a moment."

Ye Bai was a little stunned and hurriedly waved his hands, indicating that was not what he meant. But Master Roshi said, "I only entered this tournament for those two brats in the first place. I wanted them to understand that there is always someone stronger out there. Winning or losing isn't important."

After the two stepped onto the arena, Master Roshi declared his surrender before the referee could even speak. Amid everyone's confused and bewildered gazes, he returned to the rest area and then left.

After that little interlude, Nam, bearing the hopes of his entire village, and an excited Goku entered the arena. Naturally, Goku easily won this match as well. Afterward, Master Roshi gave Nam a Capsule in the rest area exit so he could fill it with water and take it back to his hometown.

The World Martial Arts Tournament reached its most climactic moment, and the audience eagerly awaited the final match. But to Ye Bai, there was no suspense at all. Goku's current battle power was not even a fraction of his own. Ye Bai had entered this tournament partly to give Goku a higher goal, and partly because he wanted to take part in Goku's journey of growth.

Once the announcer finished his opening remarks, Ye Bai and Goku walked toward the arena and took their positions on opposite sides. Ye Bai spoke to Goku.

"Goku, come at me with everything you have. Otherwise, you're going to suffer a little."

"Okay, Xiaobai. Then you'd better be careful."

Goku said it with his usual grin, then suddenly launched an attack. He leaped into the air and kicked at Ye Bai. After Ye Bai blocked it, Goku immediately spun in midair and swung a back kick at his other side. Ye Bai casually caught it and hurled him away. Ye Bai followed close behind, arriving at Goku's landing point ahead of him. Bracing himself on one hand, he kicked Goku straight into the air, but did not follow up with another attack. He merely wanted to teach Goku a lesson. He had told him to use his full strength, yet Goku had still held back.

Goku was dazed by Ye Bai's short combo. Only after regaining his senses in midair did he begin falling back down. After landing safely, he did not immediately attack, instead thinking about what strategy to use. Ye Bai, on the other hand, was different. As his battle power had soared recently, he had also developed many new tricks.

Author's note: Because of Ye Bai's influence, Goku's battle power was a little higher than in the original story. Without using his muscle form, Master Roshi really could not defeat Goku.

After suppressing his ki to roughly Goku's level, Ye Bai launched an attack. He stepped forward and threw a punch at Goku. Goku raised a hand to block, only to find that the attack never landed. Looking ahead, he saw only an afterimage. A sharp gust of wind suddenly came from behind him, and Ye Bai kicked Goku flying. He did not stop until he smashed through the arena wall. Ye Bai lowered his leg and stood upright, waiting for Goku to get back up. Such a minor attack was nowhere near enough to knock Goku down.

Goku pushed aside the rubble and walked out while clutching his head and crying out in pain.

"Xiaobai, that move was really amazing!"

"Hehe, Goku, that's called the Afterimage Technique. It's Master Roshi's move."

Master Roshi, seated among the audience, looked utterly astonished. He had no idea where Ye Bai had learned his technique.

"The Afterimage Technique? Xiaobai, how do you know Master Roshi's move? Did you train with Grandpa Master Roshi too?" Goku asked curiously from the arena.

"That's a secret, Goku."

With that, Ye Bai assumed a fighting stance and curled his fingers at Goku in invitation. Goku's gaze turned serious. He took a step and charged at Ye Bai. A phantom appeared in front of Ye Bai, and Ye Bai then sensed a faint trace of ki behind him. Yet rather than turning to defend, he kicked to the side. Goku's figure appeared, his arms crossed as he blocked Ye Bai's kick. He stared in shock and retreated, asking, "Xiaobai, how did you know I was there?"

"Goku, this is a technique for sensing ki that I just learned," Ye Bai answered without hesitation.

"I see! Xiaobai, can you teach me?" Goku suddenly asked, his eyes lighting up.

"Goku, we're in the middle of a match. How about I teach you after it's over?" Ye Bai said helplessly.

After hearing that, Goku came to his senses and assumed the stance for a Kamehameha.

"In that case, I can only use this move."

Ye Bai laughed when he saw the stance. You know it, and so do I. Ye Bai also assumed the Kamehameha stance. Everyone beneath the arena stared at them in astonishment, especially Master Roshi, whose eyes widened. He had only used the Kamehameha once and thought only Goku had learned it. He had never expected both of them to learn his ultimate technique.

As blue light began gathering in the hands of both fighters, their voices rang out in succession.

"Ka!"

"Me!"

"Ha!"

"Me!"

"Ha!"

The energy waves from their hands met in the center of the arena, and the force of their collision spread outward. The people below were blasted by the terrifying pressure until they could not open their eyes. Only Master Roshi stared at the two fighters in stunned disbelief, while the announcer shouted excitedly, "It's appeared! Master Roshi's legendary ultimate technique, which only Master Roshi himself could use! Yet now, two young men capable of using the Kamehameha have appeared in this arena!"

By evening, the Kamehamehas of the two fighters remained evenly matched. More accurately, Ye Bai held the upper hand. The point where their energy attacks collided exploded from the clash of power, blasting Goku away while Ye Bai remained standing firm at the side.

Goku pushed himself up and, seeing this, knew that Ye Bai had not used his full strength. Just as he was about to surrender, he saw the moon slowly rising high in the sky behind Ye Bai.
