In the Future Timeline, Mara was now revered as Emperor by all Destiny Ghosts. He could be called the most powerful existence of all.

Yet he did not relax in the slightest, because he had discovered that something seemed strange about his memories.

There were far too many things that defied logic, as though a huge chunk had vanished into thin air and could not be filled back in.

For instance, Ke Lan, the old nemesis he had killed.

At a cursory glance, there did not seem to be any major problems. But upon closer inspection, the problems were enormous.

At the time, he was already a Federation councilor, while the other party had merely been an insignificant Seventh Stage Hidden Sanctum master with neither power nor influence. How could Ke Lan have been his match? An old nemesis? No matter how capable he was, the moment he revealed himself, his death should have been certain.

Yet Ke Lan had somehow been able to contend with him. Mara himself had done many inexplicable things before finally killing him.

More importantly, he had inexplicably placed great importance on a certain estate and set up many measures there. Even though that estate had now become ruins, he still kept it under surveillance.

He had once intended to make that estate his base in Jing Prefecture, but for some unknown reason, he later changed his mind.

"The most important question is, why did Ke Lan bury this notebook in my estate before he died?" Mara flipped through the notebook in his hand. He had obtained it after killing Ke Lan.

The contents of the notebook were utterly ordinary. It was simply a diary, recording the events of that time in detail.

Yet it had been kept in an exceedingly secure and concealed location.
