Background / History

Founding and First Generation

Lu Xingshi proposed the Federal System after Xi City’s noble families recovered from the Royal Family’s influence and sought protection against the Da Ci Dynasty and Otherworld Demons. His model combined formerly sovereign political entities: members surrendered part of their authority to a federal government while retaining control over internal affairs. He adapted the concept for a feudal setting, allowing noble families and powerful clans to preserve local power rather than submit to a new emperor 683.

The Federation emerged from the Federation Resistance Army’s uprising. Lu Xingshi became its first President—later remembered as its first Grand President—but largely avoided administration, acting instead as the resistance’s decisive military force against Da Ci high-level Professionals 684.

Zheng Xiang, formerly a Xi City noble-family head, became a Councilor and worked to integrate, divide, or eliminate the old noble and clan forces. Lu Xingshi provided the threat of force but left political consolidation to Zheng Xiang and the Council 684.

Lu Xingshi later appointed several acting Presidents at once before departing for the Imperial City, deliberately encouraging internal rivalry among the Federation’s upper ranks. Despite corruption and factional conflict, the Federation continued its advance against the Da Ci Dynasty 692.

Historical Legacy

Three thousand five hundred years later, historical accounts described Lu Xingshi as an anti-feudal pioneer who sacrificed himself during the struggle against Da Ci. Some historians argued that the first Federation’s rapid internal strife might have been avoided had he survived; Lu Xingshi privately considered this portrayal ironic, believing his continued presence would have caused even greater disorder 704.

The Federation repeatedly split, merged, and re-formed through war and internal crises. By the modern era, it had become the twenty-sixth-generation Federation, divided into twenty-seven Autonomous Prefectures and retaining aspects of the original Federal System 704.

Conflict with Da Ci

The Federation was founded to oppose the Da Ci Dynasty after its Royal Family’s distorted influence became apparent. Lu Xingshi’s killings of Royal Family members and high-level Professionals enabled the resistance to expand into a force capable of challenging Da Ci directly 683 684.

Conflict with Family Factions and the Fate Organization

The Federation’s government and the family-backed Fate Organization maintained an unstable balance. Federation officials presented the Fate Organization as a threat seeking to control the state, while Lu Xingshi viewed both sides as competing corrupt powers 751.

The Federation avoided openly purging the family forces and Fate Organization until it could be certain of victory, since the Fate Organization possessed powerful Fate Masters and the support of entrenched local families 741.

Federation Civil War

Liang Can’s assassination and the Grand President’s injury triggered a major crisis. God Chosen troops rebelled, family factions advanced, and grassroots Arcane Treasure Users fought hereditary Fate Masters 771.

The Grand President attempted to use the conflict to destroy local family forces, weaken the Fate Organization, and establish the Hidden Sanctum system as the Federation’s foundation. The Heavenly Fate Master intervened, however, forcing him to halt the suppression campaign 771 773.

The eventual annihilation of the God Chosen troops, death of the Grand President, disappearance of the Heavenly Fate Masters, and counterattack by family factions ended the old order. Arcane Treasure Users ultimately defeated the remaining family factions and reshaped the Federation 782.

Later Decline and Dissolution

In the twenty-seventh generation, Councilor Mora enacted seven major reforms. His seventh reform prioritized resources for elite Arcane Treasure Masters, worsening inequality between privileged elites and ordinary citizens 806.

Mora secretly amassed and strengthened a Life Ghost army numbering one hundred thousand, while using political reforms that Lu Xingshi considered temporary stimulants that would leave the Federation “half-dead” after their effects passed 806 813.

After Lu Xingshi devoured the Life Destiny world, the Federation ceased to exist as an independent state. Its former population was assimilated into the Yan Kingdom; resistance movements and restoration attempts were suppressed before they could develop further 829.
