Earth, Master Roshi's island.
Master Roshi was lying on a deck chair, admiring the latest girls' manga. His eyes had turned into hearts, and his old face was flushed and glowing.
"Master Roshi, at your age, you're still reading such unhealthy books?" The turtle beside him shook his head, ashamed on Master Roshi's behalf.
"What does a turtle like you know?" Master Roshi glared at him and turned another page.
When he saw the beauty in the book, Master Roshi nearly started drooling.
Whoosh!
Just then, the Great Elder appeared beside Master Roshi with Indra.
"Well then, Mr. Indra, we shall part ways here." The Great Elder waved.
"Go on, go on." Indra nodded.
Whoosh!
Fearing that Indra might change his mind, the Great Elder hurriedly used Instant Transmission and vanished without a trace.
Master Roshi and the turtle stared unblinkingly at Indra and the Great Elder, who had suddenly appeared before them.
Then they stared blankly at the Great Elder, who had vanished just as suddenly.
The girls' manga in Master Roshi's hand slowly slipped to the ground.
"Old man, let me ask for directions. Which way is the nearest big city?" Indra asked.
Master Roshi: "..."
Turtle: "..."
Directions?
You came to a deserted island to ask for directions?
And how did you appear here?
Who was that guy who disappeared?
Master Roshi stiffly pointed west.
"Thanks." Indra took out the Divine Sword. "This Divine Sword is for you."
With that, Indra tossed the Divine Sword to Master Roshi.
.
Master Roshi froze for a moment, then hurriedly reached out to catch it.
But the instant he touched the Divine Sword, his expression changed drastically.
An incomparably heavy force suddenly crashed down upon his arms.
Boom!
The Divine Sword smashed straight into the ground, startling Master Roshi into breaking out in a cold sweat.
What was going on?
This sword seemed incredibly heavy?
"See you." Indra rose into the air and flew toward West City.
Master Roshi was dumbfounded as he stared unblinkingly at Indra flying away.
The turtle was also drenched in cold sweat, his face full of astonishment.
"Were they aliens, Master Roshi?" After a moment of silence, the turtle hurriedly asked.
"I don't know... I couldn't sense any ki from him... Who exactly was he?" Master Roshi's expression shifted again and again.
"Master Roshi, take a look at that sword!" the turtle suggested.
Master Roshi walked over to the Divine Sword.
The Divine Sword lay on the island's ground, deeply embedded in the lawn.
"What a strange sword." Master Roshi stepped forward to pick it up, only to discover in shock that no matter how hard he tried, he could not move it even an inch.
"You can't lift it?" the turtle asked in surprise.
"You make it sound easy. It's extremely heavy!" Master Roshi shook his head.
"Even Master Roshi can't lift it? Yet that young man held it so effortlessly." The turtle was utterly stunned.
"Just who was that young man?" Master Roshi gazed into the distance, trying to find Indra.
But Indra had already flown far away.
On a certain planet.
Several young Saiyans, including Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa, had gathered there.
"We just received word that Planet Vegeta... was struck by a meteor... and destroyed," one Saiyan said with a look of shock.
"What? A meteor strike? Planet Vegeta was destroyed?" Raditz was dumbfounded.
"So I can't become King Vegeta now." Vegeta gnawed on a drumstick and casually remarked.
Raditz: "..."
Nappa: "..."
Your heart was truly big.
"Prince Vegeta, what should we do next?" Nappa asked.
"We Saiyans live for battle. We'll keep fighting." Vegeta rose to his feet with a smile.
"Oh, right, Prince Vegeta. I heard that many of Frieza and his army have either lost their tails or their ears. No one knows what happened," Nappa added.
"Oh? Is that so?" Vegeta responded, then pondered. "It's nothing to make a fuss over. Maybe they ran into someone stronger than them?"
"Who could it be?" Raditz asked in confusion. "Frieza and his men are incredibly powerful."
"Idiot. The strongest beings in the universe are Super Saiyans." Vegeta's gaze was distant. "One day, I, Vegeta, will become a Super Saiyan and rule this universe!"
Frieza Planet 88.
"Reporting to Lord Frieza, we still have no sign of Indra," Dodoria reported through the video device.
"The best outcome would be no sign of him. There's an eighty percent chance he's dead." Frieza, on the other side of the screen, smiled so happily he could hardly contain himself.
Planet Vegeta had been destroyed.
The Saiyans were almost completely wiped out.
Indra had also vanished without a trace.
Mm-hmm, Indra had probably fallen into some cosmic rift and croaked from bad luck.
From this day forth, I, Frieza, will once again take control of this universe!
Milky Way Galaxy, Earth.
An hour later.
The sky gradually darkened.
Indra soon spotted a large city, brightly lit and beautiful beneath the night sky.
This city was truly huge, several times larger than any city Indra had seen on other planets before.
What delighted Indra the most was the city's population...
So many, so very many.
By his rough estimate, this city had no fewer than a hundred thousand people.
Earth was wonderful.
Both of Indra's hands trembled slightly with excitement.
How about wiping out this city when he had the time?
Wouldn't that let him advance directly to Gold? He might even skip Gold altogether and advance to Platinum.
Indra's heart surged with excitement.
"Help! Help! Someone, please save me!"
All of a sudden, Indra heard a girl in the distance crying for help. Her voice sounded rather pleasant.
Whoosh!
Out of curiosity, Indra shot toward the source of the voice.
Very soon, Indra saw a rather pretty girl below him. She had short blonde hair and looked to be around sixteen years old.
Eh?
Why did he feel like he had seen this girl somewhere before?
Behind the girl were two rather vicious-looking men who seemed about to get rough with her.
This was a classic damsel-in-distress scenario.
But it didn't matter. Indra had been wanting to practice his Erasure ability.
These two guys happened to be perfect for his needs.
Slap!
Indra descended from the sky, landing beside the girl and blocking the two vicious men.
"Kid! Who the hell are you? This is none of your business! Get lost, now!" the taller man shouted at Indra.
"How did he appear? It looked like he flew here..." The shorter man frowned.
"Your eyes must be playing tricks on you. He's just some meddler—kill him!" The taller man smiled faintly, pulled out a pistol, and fired at Indra without the slightest hesitation.
Indra waved a hand.
In an instant, both the gun in the taller man's hand and the bullet fired from its barrel vanished into thin air.
The taller man was dumbfounded. He stared blankly at his empty right hand.
Where was my gun?
What just happened?
What was wrong with me?
"Even Emperors of the Universe wouldn't dare fire a gun at me. You insignificant human really are tired of living." Indra was nearly angered into laughter. "What should I turn you into?"
"Emperor of the Universe?" The taller man could not process it.
"I've got it. I'll turn you into a human stick." Indra lightly waved his hand.
Whoosh!
The taller man's limbs vanished into thin air.
The shorter man's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he stared unblinking at the shocking scene.
Whoosh!
