History

Heavenly White Mountains Campaign

Hidden Stone assembled an overwhelming force in the Heavenly White Mountains to annihilate the surrounded Hidden Cloud main force and lure the Third Raikage into a decisive battle. Rock Town Village, near the mountains, was converted into the command, logistics, and supply hub for this operation. 6 9

Yotsuki Sora's raid disrupted the plan. He assaulted Rock Town Village, captured Kitsuchi, seized classified deployment information, and had its supplies looted or rigged with explosive tags. 8 9 Hidden Stone then sent Han to confront him, but Sora defeated the Five-Tails jinchūriki and sealed him in the Amber Purifying Pot. 16

Defeat at White Stone Gorge

Despite surrounding the Third Raikage and his remaining forces, Hidden Stone failed to prevent their escape after Sora arrived through space-time ninjutsu. Sora held the rear at White Stone Gorge, fought Hidden Stone's forces for three days and nights, severely injured Ōnoki, and flattened the gorge. 39 46

The battle inflicted catastrophic casualties. Several thousand Hidden Stone ninja were killed, while Sora emerged unscathed. 46

Surrender to Kumogakure

After further pressure from Sora and Kumogakure, Ōnoki accepted surrender rather than continue a war Hidden Stone could no longer afford. He cited Kitsuchi's death as one of the costs he refused to compound, though Kitsuchi was later revealed to be alive in Kumogakure's custody. 101 104

On February 10 of Year 46 of the Shinobi Village Era, Ōnoki publicly announced Iwagakure's surrender and issued an edict of remorse for the damage inflicted on Kumogakure. Sora accepted the apology as the Fourth Raikage and publicly declared a future of cooperation between the two villages. 104
