Salas oversees Spirit Hall affairs in Heaven Dou City. During an orphanage Spirit Awakening ceremony, he observes alongside Xue Qinghe and shares the latter's disappointment at the lack of promising talents. 1

Yun Chen's awakening of the Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff immediately changes Salas's assessment. Alarmed by the martial soul's pressure on other beast spirits, he rushes downstairs, speculates over its origin, and personally escorts Yun Chen away for a soul-power test. 2

The test confirms that Yun Chen possesses innate full soul power. Viewing the child as a rare talent and a personal achievement for Spirit Hall, Salas attempts to recruit him with cultivation resources and the promise of a Titled Douluo teacher. 3 4

Qian Renxue, acting as Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, successfully recruits Yun Chen for the Heaven Dou Empire instead.
