Opening a Cave Abode at the Border of Eastern and Western Kunlun

Amid the Kunlun mountain range, two figures streaked swiftly above the clouds. They were Yellow Dragon and South Pole Immortal Elder, who had left Jade Pure Palace. Following the contours of Kunlun's mountains and waterways, they searched for a place rich in spiritual qi and alive with the laws of the Great Dao to serve as a cultivation ground.

From time to time, Yellow Dragon plunged beneath the earth to investigate the direction of the earth veins and the paths along which spiritual qi flowed.

One day, after returning from another survey of the earth veins, Yellow Dragon said excitedly to South Pole Immortal Elder, "Senior Brother South Pole, Kunlun truly deserves to have birthed three innate sacred beings such as our masters. Innate spirit veins, rare enough elsewhere to be scarcely seen, lie beneath practically every mountain here that rises ten thousand zhang—at least one beneath each."

South Pole Immortal Elder raised his brows slightly, stroked his beard, and chuckled. "Of course. Other than Mount Buzhou, where else in the entire Primordial World could nurture four innate sacred beings at once?"

"Four?" Yellow Dragon's heart jolted, before he swiftly realized. "Right—the west has another immensely renowned female innate sacred being, the Queen Mother of the West."

Yellow Dragon then said to South Pole, "Senior Brother, please take your junior brother for a look around the west."

"Junior Brother, without the Queen Mother of the West's permission, we cannot enter Western Kunlun." South Pole Immortal Elder narrowed his eyes.

Yellow Dragon said helplessly, "Rest assured, Senior Brother. Your junior brother merely wants to find a suitable site over there to build a cultivation ground."

"I know, I know. Junior Brother need not explain." South Pole said earnestly, his eyes still narrowed.

With that, he led Yellow Dragon flying westward.

As they neared the boundary between Eastern and Western Kunlun, Yellow Dragon had South Pole Immortal Elder wait above the clouds while he plunged headfirst into the earth, following the circulation of spiritual qi through the earth veins to investigate the region.

Several months later, Yellow Dragon, still underground, finally made a discovery that shocked him.

"The solidity of earth, the vitality of wood, the softness of water, the blazing heat of fire, the sharpness of metal... all five elements are present, cycling endlessly!" Golden light flashed in Yellow Dragon's eyes. Upon closer sensing, he discovered that the laws of the Great Dao here manifested with exceptional clarity, like sweet fruit with its peel removed, waiting for anyone to take a bite!

Yellow Dragon tunneled out of the ground and flew alongside South Pole in the direction of his senses. In moments, they arrived at their destination.

Before them lay a vast valley encircled by five precipitous peaks.

The moment he entered the valley, Yellow Dragon felt comfort seep through his entire body. He took a deep breath. The air was fresh and crisp, instantly refreshing his spirit. The mana throughout his body circulated naturally, while an incomparably pure innate spiritual qi infused with the aura of the five elements was refined in an instant into strands of pure mana.

The terrain at the heart of the valley rose and fell. With only a little arrangement, it could become a natural Five Elements grand formation.

Azure qi coiled through the east, brimming with life; golden light flashed in the west, carrying an air of razor-sharpness; the southern peak was covered in scarlet immortal herbs and spiritual plants; black vapor in the north condensed into trickling streams that flowed quietly onward; and at the center stood an exceptionally weighty dark yellow mountain, shaped like a qilin lying upon the earth!

Even the air around the peaks rippled faintly. Dao patterns appeared and vanished one after another—the active laws of the Great Dao themselves!

"Junior Brother truly has great fortune, to find such a blessed land for a cave abode." South Pole Immortal Elder came to Yellow Dragon's side and sighed in admiration again and again. Though envy showed on his face, there was not a trace of greed in his heart.

Seeing the envy in South Pole Immortal Elder's eyes, Yellow Dragon solemnly bowed. "I must thank Senior Brother for accompanying me. Only then was your junior brother able to find this blessed land where all five elements are complete."

South Pole Immortal Elder waved a hand. "Helping Junior Brother find a cultivation ground was a task bestowed upon me by Master. Junior Brother need not be so polite."

"Now that Master's command has been fulfilled, it would be inconvenient for others to interfere in the construction of your cave abode. This senior brother will not linger. Once Junior Brother has finished building it, I will come as a guest."

Having said this, he did not wait for Yellow Dragon to respond before turning into a streak of light and departing.

Yellow Dragon watched the direction in which South Pole Immortal Elder had left and bowed once more.

Then he turned back to the five peaks suffused with Five Elements spiritual qi and burst into laughter.

"This place was meant to be my cultivation ground!"

He took a single step to the summit of the central main peak. His hands rapidly formed seals, moving too quickly to be seen clearly. One Jade Pure talisman seal after another flew from his fingertips like living creatures, landing with perfect precision atop the surrounding five peaks and at other crucial earth apertures.

It was precisely the formation-arranging method recorded in the Yuanshi Golden Canon.

Buzzz—!

As the final talisman seal fell, the entire valley suddenly shuddered. Five massive pillars of light shot out from the five mountaintops, each a different color, representing the five elements.

Dense earth qi gushed from the earth apertures, guarding the five main peaks like loyal sentinels.

Countless law patterns swiftly linked and intertwined between the main peaks and earth apertures, forming an enormous three-dimensional grand formation that enveloped the entire valley.

"Open!" Once the grand formation was complete, Yellow Dragon sent streams of mana into every node of the formation and gave a light shout.

The grand formation activated. Within a thousand li of Five Elements Mountain, it was as though a layer of mist filled with Dao resonance had concealed the land. Here in Kunlun, its only purpose was to tell everyone else that this place already had an owner.

As the formation activated, the surrounding spiritual qi began to slowly flow into it and gather within.

The density of spiritual qi in the valley gradually rose as well. Within days, five-colored spiritual rain began to flutter down, while immortal herbs and spiritual medicines within the formation's range grew at a visible pace.

Yellow Dragon stood atop the central main peak, sensing the changes in the grand formation, his eyes gleaming.

From now on, this place where he cultivated and comprehended the Dao would be called Enlightenment Peak.

He raised his foot and lightly stamped the mountaintop.

Rumble—!

The hard rocks near the summit silently sank and reshaped themselves. Before long, an ancient, unadorned courtyard built against the mountain, its gates standing wide open, took form.

Four great characters were carved above its gate in Dao script—"Five Elements Courtyard."

A cultivation ground with only a residence would look exceptionally monotonous. That clearly did not suit the identity of a transmigrator.

Yellow Dragon's figure flickered as he busied himself around the various peaks like a streak of light.

The eastern peak contained an innate wood-element spirit vein. Yellow Dragon named it Spirit Herb Peak. With a sweep of his sleeve, countless prepared seeds of immortal herbs and spiritual medicines scattered down. He then cast the Sweet Dew Technique, bringing down sweet dew rich in the power of life to nourish the seeds, letting them take root, sprout, and grow at great speed.

In just a few months, the fragrance of all kinds of immortal herbs and spiritual medicines filled the air—the fresh scent of ganoderma, the rich aroma of ginseng, the sweet fragrance of vermilion fruit... mingling together, they made one feel comfortable with a mere breath.

Yellow Dragon named the northern peak Lotus Peak. Halfway up the mountain, above its spirit vein, a lowland where a spiritual spring emerged was enlarged and deepened with his mana, becoming a pond several li wide.

Yellow Dragon carefully took out a sapling of the Pure World White Lotus. A small segment of lotus root was white as jade, with two lotus leaves at one end, radiating an aura of pure clarity that seemed capable of purifying every impurity in the world. The sapling fell into the spiritual mud at the bottom of the pond, and the water instantly became clearer, faint holy white light flowing beneath its surface.

The southern peak was suffused with fire-element spiritual qi, making it perfect for cultivating blood dates. Yellow Dragon named it Blood Date Peak.

Yellow Dragon buried several date pits atop the spirit vein. Each was the size of a longan, crimson as blood, and covered in natural patterns. They were the pits he had deliberately kept after refining the flesh of the acquired spiritual root, Blood Red Dates.

The date pits had been soaked in Sweet Dew water by Yellow Dragon for a long time, nurturing abundant life force within them. The instant they entered the soil, they swiftly took root, sprouted, and continued to grow. A date forest was gradually taking shape.
