Background / History

Soul Hall operated through covert agents well before its open war with the Thunder Alliance. Years before the main Central State conflict, one of its black-clad members helped Yun Shan break through from the peak Dou Emperor realm to Dou Zong, then compelled him to search for a clan surnamed Xiao. 147

By the time Xiao Lei arrived in Central State, Soul Hall was recognized as the “one hall” among the region’s foremost human factions. Xin Lan regarded it as a force comparable in standing to the Pill Tower, while Xiao Lei identified the Soul Clan, its Hall Masters, Vice Hall Masters, and Nine Heavenly Sovereigns as threats beyond his group’s ability to confront at that time. 191

Its branch halls imprisoned the souls of the dead in specialized chains and stored their soul power. The Dead Soul Mountain Range branch hall held Yao Chen captive and contained a large number of imprisoned souls before Xiao Lei infiltrated it. 246

Early Interference in the Northwest Continent

Soul Hall’s influence is first tied to Yun Shan’s breakthrough and his assigned search for the Xiao clan. Its agents also intervened in the conflict between the Poison Sect and Xie BiYan’s forces through Iron Protector. 147 181

Escalation in Central State

After Xiao Lei entered Central State, the hall emerged as one of the region’s most formidable factions. Mu Gu the Elder’s infiltration of the Pill Gathering exposed Soul Hall’s willingness to target alchemists and operate from within competing groups. 191 238

Dead Soul Mountain Range Branch Hall

Xiao Lei infiltrated the Dead Soul Mountain Range branch hall to rescue Yao Chen. He killed its Protectors, absorbed the stored souls into Soul Origin, broke through to the Heaven Realm in soul cultivation, and confronted Star Plucking Old Ghost and other defenders. 246

The rescue operation ended with the defeat of Star Plucking Old Ghost and the Black White Heavenly Venerables, the recovery of Yao Chen’s soul, and the destruction of the branch hall. 248 249

War with the Thunder Alliance

Soul Hall escalated the conflict by attacking Falling Star Pavilion and later backing the Nether River Alliance’s assault on Thunder Alliance headquarters. Its Great Heavenly Venerate personally confronted Xiao Lei after Xiao Lei emerged from seclusion. 260 282 283

The hall then threatened the newly formed anti-Soul Hall alliance over the Tou She Ancient God Jade. Its Vice Hall Master’s demand was rejected, setting the stage for an organized counterattack. 286 287

Destruction of the Human Hall and Final Battle

Xiao Lei, Zi Yan, and the surrendered Gu You Shengzhe attacked the Human Hall, killing its experts and forcing the Great Heavenly Venerate and Vice Hall Master to intervene. The Vice Hall Master was captured, while the Great Heavenly Venerate was killed. 293 294

Soul Hall’s final challenge at Fallen Peak brought Hun Miesheng, Soul Demon Elder, and five other Dou Shengs against the Thunder Alliance. Xiao Lei defeated the Hall Master and his subordinates with the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame and his lightning abilities. 301 303

Following the battle, the Heavenly Mansion Alliance seized Soul Hall’s territory, ending its regional hegemony. Its remaining forces collapsed as the Thunder Alliance became Central State’s dominant power. 303 308
