In Age 764, a massive spaceship streaked through the outer reaches of the solar system.
Onboard, Frieza, whose body had been half-transformed into metal, and King Cold watched as Earth drew closer.
"Father, that's Earth. It looks like we'll reach it before the Super Saiyan we're hunting does."
"Why not just destroy such a tiny planet with one attack?"
"But then I wouldn't be able to sate the anger in my heart. Besides, my power has grown tremendously. There's absolutely no one who can match me."
"You mean that Super Saiyan?"
Watching the little red dot steadily approach on the Scouter, Frieza realized that Goku was also heading for Earth.
"When the time comes, I'll show you who the strongest person in the entire universe is."
On Earth, Gohan and the Z Fighters also sensed the powerful, evil presence radiating from beyond the planet. The Z Fighters who hadn't fought on Namek might not recognize it, but Vegeta and the others certainly did: it was Frieza's ki.
After sensing roughly where the presence would land, the Z Fighters scattered across Earth all headed there at once.
On the way, Gohan happened to run into Krillin. Feeling the evil presence drawing closer and closer, Krillin couldn't help remembering the moment Frieza had killed him on Planet Namek. He picked up his pace.
"I can't believe Frieza's still alive. Kakarot really was too naive. But who could that presence beside Frieza be? It's ten times stronger than his!"
Vegeta was furious that Goku hadn't killed Frieza for good. He had no intention of slowing down for Yamcha, who was struggling to catch up behind him.
Before long, Vegeta and the others landed in an uninhabited wasteland. Bulma soon caught up in her aircraft and joined them.
"They're here!"
Piccolo, who had been on guard, was the first to sense that Frieza's spaceship had reached Earth and was heading their way.
As soon as Piccolo finished speaking, a huge spaceship appeared in their field of vision. It swept over their heads and descended toward an open stretch of land in the distance. The terrifying presences of Frieza and his father, King Cold, left everyone rooted to the spot. It took Vegeta and the others a moment to recover.
"Listen up, all of you. Don't fly there using your ki. If we're going, we walk, so they don't notice us."
Having once worked for Frieza, Vegeta knew that he and his men wore energy Scouters. He warned Yamcha and the others, who had never fought Frieza, not to use their ki and reveal their position.
Piccolo and the others, who had fought Frieza, quickly accepted the suggestion. But Yamcha, who had never encountered Frieza, couldn't help asking after feeling the terrifying presence.
"Wait... Frieza's ki is that huge, monstrous presence?"
"That's right, and he'll only get stronger."
Gohan answered Yamcha's question. After hearing him out, Yamcha wondered what chance they had with their meager fighting power against two enemies that strong. Piccolo asked whether they should just stay where they were and wait to die. Everyone already knew their chances were slim. After a brief struggle, they decided to go and see for themselves.
Meanwhile, Frieza and King Cold emerged from the ship with a group of soldiers. Wanting to make Goku suffer, Frieza planned to have his men kill everyone on Earth before Goku returned. At his command, the soldiers behind him immediately took off to deal with the planet's inhabitants—but they were all wiped out in an instant.
The next moment, a young man appeared before Frieza and the others. Frieza was puzzled by the sudden arrival, but quickly recovered and ordered his men to kill him.
At Frieza's command, the soldiers surrounded the young man. Then one of the green-skinned aliens stepped forward and checked the young man's fighting power with a Scouter. The reading showed only 5—a textbook weakling.
He pressed the trigger on his energy blaster, intending to kill the young man with an energy blast. But the young man wasn't blown away as he'd expected. Instead, he batted the blast aside with one hand. Refusing to believe it, he fired several more times, but every shot was knocked away just as easily.
The young man then punched him into one of the spaceship's support pillars. A group of soldiers rushed him, but they were all killed in an instant. Frieza dealt with the last surviving soldier himself. With all his men gone, Frieza prepared to take matters into his own hands.
Seeing Frieza about to attack, the young man said he wouldn't make the same mistake as Goku: he would bring out his full power from the start. There was more than one Super Saiyan—he was one too.
As soon as he finished speaking, the young man began powering up to transform. The force of his aura swept the earth beneath his feet and the corpses around him into the air.
Soon, his transformation was complete. His gaze was sharp, his eyes were green, and his hair stood straight up, turning golden.
At the sight of the change, Frieza was reminded of Goku on Namek. He stumbled backward in fear, then angrily unleashed an energy blast, kicking up a cloud of smoke.
By the law that smoke means no damage, the young man emerged completely unharmed.
Seeing that the young man wasn't hurt, Frieza unleashed an even stronger energy blast. The young man blocked it with his crossed arms, splitting the blast into countless smaller energy waves that tore up the surrounding landscape.
His attack blocked once more, Frieza flew into a rage. He shot into the sky and formed a planet-destroying bomb, intent on destroying Earth outright. He could deal with Goku in space.
Seeing his planet-destroying bomb engulf the young man and continue descending toward the ground, Frieza immediately prepared to leave Earth with his father.
Just as they were about to enter the spaceship, they saw that the planet-destroying bomb had stopped descending. Instead, it was rising. Looking closer, they saw the young man walking out of the crater with the enormous energy sphere raised in one hand.
Seeing that the young man was unharmed, Frieza fired a small energy blast to detonate the planet-destroying bomb. The terrifying explosion obliterated everything around it, and the remaining shockwave spread in every direction.
There was no one at the center of the explosion. Frieza assumed he had killed the young man, but failed to notice him standing on the high ground behind them.
"Frieza!"
The young man shouted from the rise and fired an energy blast at Frieza and King Cold.
Frieza and King Cold flew into the air to avoid the attack, but the young man instantly appeared behind Frieza, drew the sword on his back, and brought it down, slicing Frieza in two.
The young man followed up, chopping Frieza into pieces before blasting him away with an energy wave. And so, the Emperor of the Universe, Frieza, was taken out.
The moment Frieza was taken out, the Z Fighters, who were still rushing there on foot, were stunned. Vegeta was so shocked that he instantly forgot what he'd said earlier. He powered up first and flew toward the battlefield at top speed.
Seeing Vegeta fly straight to the battlefield, Piccolo and the others also took off after him.
Meanwhile, although King Cold had watched Frieza die before his eyes, he felt no sadness. Instead, he had his eye on the sword the young man had used to cut Frieza apart.
King Cold tried to provoke the young man into letting him inspect the sword. The young man drew it from his back and tossed it to King Cold.
After catching the sword, King Cold examined it. He decided that it had played a major role in the young man's victory over Frieza. Without it, there was no way the young man could beat him.
He raised the sword and swung it at the young man, but the young man caught it firmly with one hand. Then he powered up again, his strength surging. The sheer force drove King Cold back again and again.
"My strength doesn't come from the sword alone."
Looking at King Cold, whom he had overpowered, the young man raised his right hand and pressed it to his chest. An energy blast shot straight through him. The tremendous force made King Cold release the sword and crash into the mountain behind him.
Seeing the young man still holding the pose he'd used to fire the blast, King Cold hurriedly begged for mercy and offered him all sorts of generous deals—including every planet under his rule.
The young man wasn't swayed by King Cold's offers. He simply fired another energy blast, sending him off to join Frieza.
After killing King Cold, the young man turned and destroyed Frieza's spaceship. Then he returned his sword to the scabbard on his back, tilted his head at a 45-degree angle, and ended his Super Saiyan transformation.
By then, Vegeta and the others had flown into the nearby airspace.
The young man showed no surprise at their arrival, as if he'd known all along that they would come.
"I'm going to meet Mr. Goku now. Would you like to come with me?"
Seeing how tense everyone was, the young man asked them.
"Why? How do you know about my dad?"
Hearing the young man mention Goku, Gohan couldn't help feeling confused.
The young man didn't answer Gohan's question. Instead, he pointed in a certain direction.
"It's this way. Mr. Goku should arrive in three hours. Please follow me."
With that, the young man took off in the direction he'd pointed.
Though they still had plenty of questions, after a brief discussion, they decided to follow him and see what happened—whether for Goku's sake or because they wanted to learn who the young man was.
As they flew, the young man glanced back. Seeing that everyone was following, he continued ahead at a speed they could all keep up with.
Before long, they stopped in one place. The young man took a Hoi-Poi Capsule from his belongings and turned it into a small refrigerator. He took out some chilled drinks and handed them to the others.
After three hours of waiting, they sensed Goku's ki racing toward them from outer space.
Before long, a small spaceship appeared before them and descended nearby. Its tremendous shockwave lifted the earth in a ring of soil waves, throwing up the ground for dozens of meters around.
Once Goku stepped out of the spaceship, the young man asked him to talk somewhere apart from the others.
Away from the group, the young man first asked Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan and spar with him. After sensing Goku's strength, he confessed some things to him, and Goku learned who the young man was: Trunks, Vegeta's son from twenty years in the future.
Trunks revealed the desperate future to Goku: a deadly Heart Virus, Androids powerful enough to suffocate them with fear, and the Z Fighters falling one after another.
He spoke calmly, but every word carried weight as he described a broken world where he and his mother, Bulma, fought on alone.
After hearing him out, Goku accepted the small bottle of medicine from the future—and the heavy responsibility of changing fate. The urgency of it all filled him with excitement.
Trunks didn't want anyone besides Goku to learn about the future, but he had no idea that Piccolo, standing some distance away, had heard every word of their conversation.
Trunks then flew off into the distance, and the others gathered around Goku.
Just as Goku was wondering how to tell everyone about the future, Piccolo, who had openly listened to the whole conversation, took the task upon himself. He told everyone about the future in a way they could understand without revealing Trunks's identity.
As the others were still questioning whether any of it was true, Trunks, who had already left, appeared before them once again.
Under the others' complicated gazes, Future Trunks and his Time Machine blurred and vanished, returning to the future that still needed him to save it.
Somewhere at the center of the universe, energy gathered in a brilliant, multicolored vortex. At its center, a figure slowly took shape, with purple Destruction Energy flickering around him.
His hair was styled in the signature Super Saiyan spikes, each purple strand standing straight up—sharp and dynamic, perfectly suited to the series' fighting style. His facial features were rugged, and his piercing purple eyes were cold and keen, radiating such a powerful presence that it seemed he could see right through his opponent.
He wore a black bodysuit that showed off his muscular build, with gold armor adorning his shoulders and elbows to add both elegance and strength. A purple gem stood out on his chest, as if it were an energy core. Loose, light gray pants and a black cape that fluttered in the wind completed the look. Paired with the classic outfit of a God of Destruction, it was simply perfect.
A surging purple aura surrounded him, blending into the starry backdrop. Light and shadow played across its surface, the flow of energy clear, as though it held the power to destroy the heavens and the earth.
"Where am I? Didn't I die saving someone?"
Lin Fan opened his eyes and looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, puzzled. Suddenly, information flooded into his mind, letting him understand his current situation.
So I've been reborn in the world of Dragon Ball. My original consciousness and the consciousness nurtured by this universe have merged into a new self. Since my former self is already dead, I'll live on under this new identity.
After receiving the information transmitted by the universe, he now knew who he was: a deity born from the universe, based on the Saiyan race, which currently held the greatest potential—the God of Destruction, Malvis.
