Background / History

Beerus is Universe 7's God of Destruction, an established deity whose usual routine had deteriorated into eating, sleeping, and leaving planetary destruction to Frieza. He had previously searched for a Super Saiyan God, but found the Saiyans of his era too weak to interest him. 75

After sleeping for many years, Beerus is awakened when Malvis places food before him. Although initially annoyed by an uninvited visitor in his domain, he permits Whis to train Malvis once Malvis offers delicacies as a gift. 74 75

Beerus spars with Malvis in order to assess the new God of Destruction's strength. Their escalating fight is moved to the World of Void, where Malvis repeatedly forces Beerus to reveal more power, including Ultra Instinct and eventually his peak strength. 75 76 88 91

Following the battle, Beerus recognizes Malvis as a worthy opponent but criticizes the severe physical backlash of Malvis's fused form.
