Black Zetsu was here, which meant Obito could not be far away.
"Other than you and Madara," Qianyu asked, "who else knows my identity?"
"No one." Abin shook his head. "Madara ordered that no one be told—not even Obito or Black Zetsu. Back then, he said... said he wanted you to live a life with some meaning. So, in theory, only me and the already-dead Madara knew you existed."
Qianyu nodded.
Hashirama and Tobirama had learned about it inside the Four Violet Flames Formation last time, but they had been reanimated bodies. Once they died, they would take the secret into their coffins. It was not a major problem.
The real problem was this face.
He walked over to the mirror. His face had shed the roundness and softness of childhood; his jawline had become defined, and the spacing between his brows and eyes had opened up. Compared to photos of Madara in his youth, he no longer looked so much like him that people could mistake them at a glance, as they might have when he was six or seven.
But from certain angles, especially when he pursed his lips in thought, he still bore traces of that man.
It could not be hidden.
Abin suddenly tensed. "He's here. Right beneath us, about three meters down."
Qianyu turned back to the stove, picked up the fish, and continued preparing it.
"Can he discover you?"
"No." Abin said, "I've been in human society too long. My aura is already different from that of the White Zetsu among humans. As long as he doesn't touch me directly, at most he'll find me suspicious. He won't recognize who I am."
"Good." Qianyu placed the fish on the grill and lit the charcoal. "When he gets close to the surface, pretend to fall."
