That night, Tang Ya sat in the courtyard of Homecoming Cottage for a long time.

She did not say much more. She simply sat quietly on the stone bench, occasionally looking up at the moon, occasionally looking down at their clasped hands.

Only when the night breeze grew cold and the moonlight shifted did she rise to her feet and softly say, "See you tomorrow, Teacher Huo," before turning and walking out through the courtyard gate.

"Ready?" Huo Chen stood at the door, looking at her.

"Ready." Tang Ya's voice was calm and resolute.

Huo Chen did not ask anything further. He nodded and held out his hand.

Tang Ya did not hesitate. She stepped forward and took his hand. Her fingers were still somewhat cold, but that coldness no longer held any tremor.

A spatial rift opened before them, and the two stepped into it.
