Background / History

Shrek Academy is described as the soul master academy with the longest heritage and deepest foundations on the Douluo Continent. Its cultivation methods, secret-realm resources, instructors, and opportunities for peer sparring are regarded as unmatched by other academies. 8

The academy draws applicants from across the continent during its annual admissions period. By the time Huo Yuhao applies, Shrek City’s gates are crowded with prospective students, merchants, and groups of Soul Masters. 9

When Huo Yuhao demonstrates Rank 28 soul power and two million-year soul rings at age eleven, the academy alerts the Sea God Pavilion. Mu En subsequently admits him without examination into the first-year advanced class and appoints Huo Chen as a specially appointed instructor with privileges equal to a Sea God Pavilion elder. 10

Under Huo Chen’s tenure, Class One abandons Zhou Yi’s last-place elimination approach in favor of individualized training and a policy that rejects labeling students as “trash.” 11

During the fifth year of the Reincarnation Calendar, Shrek Academy’s main field hosts the grand wedding of Huo Chen, drawing guests and envoys from across the continent to Shrek City. 124

Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion is Shrek Academy’s highest authority. Its senior members are powerful figures with Titled Douluo-level strength and continent-wide prestige. Mu En serves as its master. 10

Huo Chen proposes and Yan Shaozhe approves an exchange program with the Sun Moon Empire Royal Soul Engineering Academy. Huo Chen argues that Shrek students can broaden their horizons and strengthen their overall abilities by studying the Sun Moon Empire’s advanced Soul Tool technology, while Sun Moon students can gain exposure to disciplines beyond Soul Tools. 87

Huo Chen personally leads Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong’er, Ning Tian, Wu Feng, and Cui Yajie as the first selected exchange students. They travel to the Sun Moon Empire through a spatial passage and reside in a courtyard behind Illustrious Virtue Hall. 87

After roughly half a year, Huo Chen and the exchange students return to Shrek Academy in preparation for the Second Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament. 114 116

Assessments and Titles

Freshman Assessment

The freshman assessment occurs three months after enrollment and evaluates soul power, practical combat, team coordination, and other areas. Its results affect later class assignments and resource allocation. 19

Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament

Shrek Academy sends two seven-person teams to the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament: an Outer Court team composed of the Forty-Seventh Shrek Seven Monsters and an Inner Court elite team. 67
