If it had been Shalltear herself, even fighting a level-95 high-ranking Dragon Lord head-on would not have been difficult. But the character she controlled in the game was still a newbie with no levels or equipment.
"I told you, you got teleported to the 'Dragon Wilderness' because you triggered a teleportation circle... That huge dungeon only had one guaranteed-death teleportation circle, and you still managed to find it." Albedo covered her mouth as she laughed.
"Trash game! What a trash game! What kind of game puts a teleportation circle leading straight to the final boss in the starting dungeon?"
"The dragon was only a level-80 mid-boss."
"But come to think of it, if the priest character—Shalltear—dies, we can't continue the game, right?" Camellia said.
"I was hoping that once the priest reached level 29 and learned 'Resurrection,' she could bring the lancer back to life."
"So I'm completely dead, then..." Artoria muttered softly from where she sat crouched nearby.
The lancer, Artoria, had encountered her first monster—a slime—the moment she left the door. She rolled a 1, causing her attack to fail, then rolled another 1, causing her defense to fail and leaving her poisoned. Then she rolled yet another 1 while trying to cure the poison, which only made it worse.
She did not even have an antidote on her, so she died in the very first round.
They had originally hoped the priest could resurrect her, but it seemed that had failed completely.
"If the priest dies, we can't keep playing... There aren't any healing units left in the party, so we definitely can't beat the boss." Preya sighed.
"That is indeed the case. This game goes to the adventurers' defeat." Aureole made the declaration.
"Ahh, what a shame. We were so close to getting the divine artifact."
