Three large grayish-blue demons were approaching from directly ahead.
Besides that, from Ling and Momon's perspective, there were at least several dozen black silhouettes scattered throughout the district.
Those shadows were using the ability [Visual Obstruction], but they could not fool Ling and Momon's eyes at all.
In fact, the guards hidden in the darkness had already discovered these ambushers. They had only allowed them to approach the Supreme Beings because they had determined that they posed no threat.
The nun bowed to the two adamantite-ranked adventurers, then ran off in another direction.
At that moment, an explosion suddenly rang out from the direction of the inn, and that street burst into flames as well.
"Will she be all right?" Momon asked quietly.
"Of course. Anyone sent to monitor us wouldn't be an ordinary character," Ling said. "Besides, even if something happens to her, it isn't our responsibility."
Momon helplessly scratched his head at Ling's heartless words.
Ling was not carrying his bow, and Momon had not brought his sword, yet as they faced dozens of enemies, the two remained perfectly composed, chatting and laughing.
"Aya, do you know what these things are?"
"Not sure. I can make a rough guess—they should be related to the 'crisis' the Slane Theocracy mentioned, the one that would bring about humanity's extinction."
"These are demon species I haven't seen in YGGDRASIL..."
"You should head back to the inn. I'll handle things here," Ling said. "Those two girls from the Re-Estize Kingdom should still be over there."
"Then I'll leave this side to you."
The two high-fived, and Momon calmly departed in the other direction.
Ling remained where he was, coldly watching the demons and shadows before him.
When the nun and Ainz left, the demons could only stare blankly, helplessly watching their "prey"
