"Bringing Nazarick into this would greatly improve our chances of winning, wouldn't it?" Artoria said.
Aya did not answer her question. She slowly leaned over the table and spoke softly.
"Before I traveled through time, I forcibly linked the Temple of Life to Nazarick and placed my daughters inside the Temple of Life."
Tilting her head, Aya smiled. "The Temple of Life is a special [World-Class Item] that transcends time and space. After testing it, I confirmed that it would take them back to the past."
Artoria fell silent for a moment. "You mean... you distorted the timeline, right?"
"That's right. Because I wanted to save them. If that stinking fox killed me ahead of time, they would cease to exist too."
Unlike Artoria, Camellia, Preya, and Lilith were all daughters Aya had created in this world. Therefore, if Aya had been killed upon entering this world, they would have disappeared as well.
So Aya conducted a test. She first made a stone sculpture and placed it inside the Temple of Life. Then she used Wild Magic to Return to the Past by one hour and destroyed the original stone that had been used to make the sculpture.
The result was that the stone sculpture still existed within the Temple of Life, but it had become one carved from a different stone.
That single experiment had consumed the souls of nearly ten thousand people.
"What if you yourself entered the Temple of Life..." Artoria proposed.
"I considered it, but it wouldn't work. Tiamat's existence is special. She could easily exceed the Temple of Life's limits and cause it to collapse into a lost coordinate in another dimension." Aya shook her head.
"I did this specifically because I wanted to save them, but if we bring Nazarick into this as well..."
