Background
Li Mu was an ordinary university graduate in his original life who entered clerical work. After falling asleep while working overtime, he transmigrated into the body of an infant in another world while retaining memories of both past and future information. 1
Li Jianmin found the infant near a meteorite impact in a deep forest, adopted him, and raised him in the mountains. Li Mu grew up calling Li Jianmin “Old Man,” balancing genuine affection with frequent frustration at his adoptive father’s eccentric habits and restrictive mountain formations. 1 2
At roughly two years old, Li Mu began eight years of Shushan cultivation. His training included running mountain paths, carrying water, fieldwork, medicinal baths, moonlit meditation, memorizing the Banish Evil Incantation, talisman techniques, and foundational Xuanmen practices. 2 By age six, he possessed exceptional physical endurance for a child. 2
When Li Jianmin offered him a choice of magical academies in 1991, Li Mu recognized that events in Britain aligned with the Harry Potter timeline. He chose Hogwarts, initially intending to witness familiar history firsthand. 2 His later encounters with deviations from that history—especially Hinata—convince him that passive observation is no longer possible. 55
Appearance
Li Mu is a black-haired, black-eyed boy of East Asian appearance, noted for his healthy wheat-colored complexion, balanced build, and strikingly mature bearing. 3 4 58
- Black hair and black eyes. 3
- Wheat-colored or brownish-yellow skin. 3 4
- Well-proportioned and physically fit from years of cultivation training. 2 4
- Carries himself with a maturity that adults such as Madam Pince find unusual for an eleven-year-old. 58
Personality
Li Mu is outwardly confident, playful, and prone to exaggerated boasts, but his humor often masks the perspective of someone who has lived two lives. He can be pragmatic to the point of disregarding school rules when he believes the risk is worth the result. 1 46 55
His knowledge of the original timeline initially makes him calculating: he deliberately befriends Harry Potter because he considers proximity to the protagonist strategically valuable. 4 As events diverge, however, his concern for Harry, Hermione, and other students becomes genuine, driving him to intervene against threats rather than remain a spectator. 55 121 136
Li Mu is observant and skilled at reading motives, often using historical examples and psychological insight to advise others. 41 42 He can also be manipulative, notably exploiting Moaning Myrtle’s loneliness and insecurity to win her cooperation. 43 Despite this, he repeatedly shows empathy toward vulnerable people and creatures, including Myrtle, Cedric, and an injured winged key. 88 91 123
The Mirror of Erised exposes the depth of his unresolved attachment to his former life: beneath his ambition and apparent adaptation lies a desire to see his parents, grandparents, girlfriend, and former friends again. 103 104

Story Role / Major Arcs
Arrival at Hogwarts
Li Mu leaves Li Jianmin’s mountain home to attend Hogwarts after recognizing the world as one resembling the Harry Potter story he knew from his previous life. In London, he meets Hagrid and Harry at the Leaky Cauldron, then presents himself to Harry as a Shushan exchange student in order to form a friendship. 2 3 4
Sorted into Hufflepuff, Li Mu is disappointed by the assignment but resolves to make the best of it. He begins building connections with Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hufflepuff classmates, and the mysterious Ravenclaw student Hinata. 20 28
Choosing to Change History
Li Mu initially wants to observe known events from a safe distance, but Hinata’s existence and the timeline’s growing deviations convince him that history can be changed. He decides to intervene actively rather than rely on Harry and the other expected protagonists. 55 121
His decision leads him to join Hufflepuff Quidditch as Seeker, where his Nimbus 2000 and unusual flying ability make him a school celebrity. 56 77 During a match, his broom is sabotaged by an Evil Curse, nearly killing him and increasing his distrust of the forces acting around Hogwarts. 81 83
Mirror of Erised and the Philosopher’s Stone
Li Mu encounters the Mirror of Erised with Harry, Ron, and Hinata. The mirror shows him his former family and girlfriend, revealing that his deepest wish is reunion with the people he lost through transmigration. 103 104
After seeing himself holding a scarlet stone in the mirror, Li Mu finds the Philosopher’s Stone in his pocket. Although tempted by its promise of immortality and the possibility of eventually returning home, he lacks any method to use it safely. 104 106
Forbidden Area Corridor
Believing Voldemort will act while Dumbledore is absent, Li Mu enters the fourth-floor Forbidden Area corridor alone. He passes Fluffy, Devil’s Snare, the winged keys, the enchanted chessboard, the Troll, and Snape’s potion riddle through a mixture of Taoist cultivation, Western magic, improvisation, and Word Spirit. 121 122 123 126 127 128
In the Mirror chamber, he duels Quirrell and Voldemort. Professor McGonagall, Harry, and Hermione arrive as reinforcements, but a White Tiger later emerges from the Mirror and attacks. In desperation, Li Mu casts the Killing Curse against it. 129 130 133
Aftermath and Summer Internship
Li Mu survives the Forbidden Area incident, though he remains hospitalized for several days and learns that an unknown enemy had targeted him. Dumbledore publicly credits him with helping thwart Voldemort’s plot. 135 136 138
For the summer, Li Jianmin prevents Li Mu from returning to the mountain and instead appoints him Executive Vice President of Angel Investment Company in London. Li Mu adapts to the role while maintaining a cultivation routine and using the company’s specialized training facilities. 140 144
