"Heh heh, you're really an interesting one. I almost don't want to kill you outright. But have you ever heard of sonic ranging?"
On the surface, Sixshot seemed to be at a disadvantage. He was out in the open while Starscream hid in the shadows, but that did not mean Sixshot would remain on the receiving end forever. On the contrary, he was using every favorable condition he could find to locate his hidden enemy.
"Sonic waves? Are you trying to...?"
Sonic ranging sounded like a highly specialized term. Generally speaking, only Transformers who had mastered the workings of ultrasonic waves could use it. Its principle was to use the distance sound traveled, combined with a series of supercomputer calculations, to determine an enemy's approximate direction. Could Sixshot use this technique too?
By the time Starscream realized what was happening, he was already at a disadvantage. In his giant wolf form, two aircraft wings suddenly extended from Sixshot's back, carrying him to the very top of the space. Then, using nothing more than primitive optical targeting, he fired two rockets in the direction he had chosen. It seemed he had been inspired by Starscream's earlier attack.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Another storm of flying sand and stones erupted. A massive crater instantly appeared where Sixshot had aimed. He had actually used high explosives. Wasn't he afraid of blasting the entire space into collapse? Or had Sixshot intended from the start to destroy this whole place?
It seemed the thoughts of these powerful Decepticons differed from those of ordinary warriors. Compared to the seemingly crazed Great Dinosaur Saurus, the usually quiet Sixshot possessed even greater destructive power. That was something Starscream had never expected.
But that strike had not harmed Starscream in the slightest. It had not even scratched the paint on his body.
Sixshot was truly a genius among geniuses, but he had forgotten one basic condition: the electromagnetic field in this space was extremely chaotic. In other words, theoretically, any location where Starscream had left traces could become a target for sonic ranging.
What was more, Starscream had always been cautious. After saying a few words in one spot, he would immediately move elsewhere. He knew every hiding place in this area like the back of his hand. But if Sixshot truly intended to destroy the entire space, that was another matter entirely!
This guy's madness far exceeded Starscream's expectations. Sixshot surely understood that while destroying the space might reveal the hidden enemy, the resulting massive spatial and electromagnetic explosions could trap even a super Decepticon warrior like himself with no way out.
It was a huge and utterly foolish gamble!
"Sixshot, I know what you're trying to do. But you'd better think it through. If this space collapses, both of us may very well be buried here. Even if you have that beast form, you're still an experienced Decepticon warrior. You can't possibly fail to understand what I'm saying, can you?"
To be honest, once Starscream realized what Sixshot planned to do next, he truly panicked. He had never expected that, in this desperate fight of a cornered beast, Sixshot would come up with such an extreme idea. Were all ten of the Decepticons' greatest warriors this insane?
"Hahaha! I didn't expect you to see through my intentions! Honestly, I don't want to use this move either. But if I let you get away, you'll definitely become a huge threat to the Decepticons in the future. I believe that if any of the other super warriors encountered the situation I'm facing, they would use the same extreme method!"
Fine. It looked like Sixshot had done this sort of mutually destructive thing quite often in the past. He even seemed to consider it rather heroic!
"You really are insane. I don't have time to play with you!"
After confirming his judgment, Starscream no longer bothered concealing himself. He transformed directly into a fighter jet, unleashed a barrage of missiles at the crazed Sixshot before him, then fled toward the exit at top speed.
At the final moment, Sixshot seemed to catch a glimpse of Starscream's thrusters. From that angle, he could not make out much, but at least his opponent was no longer in Ultra Magnus's form.
Just as Sixshot tried to confirm what he had seen, the missiles Starscream fired exploded around him. Their effect seemed to accelerate the collapse of the space. It appeared that Starscream was beginning to go a little crazy as well. Did he intend to seize the initiative for himself?
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
"From that angle, it really did look a little like Starscream's tail fins! But do you think such a trick can fool me? Could a coward like Starscream really do something like this?"
Sixshot had apparently already formed a suspicion, only to quickly dismiss it himself. Moreover, the magnetic field in this space had become extremely unstable. As jagged metal fragments drifted everywhere, blue sparks could be seen floating through the air. If they did not evacuate quickly, they could encounter a massive magnetic-field eruption at any moment.
Even a super Decepticon warrior like Sixshot could not guarantee he would emerge unscathed from such an eruption. However, the one fleeing ahead seemed to have left behind some traces, giving Sixshot a slim chance of survival!
But what he did next was even crazier. Knowing full well that he could no longer catch the one ahead, Sixshot transformed into his laser cannon form again and continuously fired lasers at the glowing exit in the distance. It was as if he were saying: if I can't get out, then you won't be leaving in one piece either!
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
"Sixshot, you really are a madman! You could definitely rank in the top three on the Decepticons' list of ten greatest lunatics!"
That was Starscream's curse. Though he had already reached the vicinity of the exit, the light before him was quickly swallowed up by Sixshot's attacks. At the same time, Starscream had no choice but to endure electromagnetic explosions coming from every direction.
Fortunately, he was near the exit, so his situation was not as dire as Sixshot's in the central area. But when a massive boulder came crashing down, Starscream's central processor suffered a tremendous shock. To protect the safety of his Spark, it automatically entered silent mode, and his consciousness abruptly went dark...
