"Yes, do whatever you want to us! To be able to die on the battlefield alongside General Huo, the two of us have no regrets!"
Well, who would have thought these ordinary humans possessed such spirit? Starscream could clearly sense all kinds of hormones surging through the three humans before him, but he had not expected them to regard death so lightly.
"Humans, you three have courage. I want to know the name of your leader. You don't intend to remain an anonymous warrior, do you?"
For some reason, Starscream suddenly wanted to know who this man they called General Huo really was, and the question slipped out.
"My name never changes, nor does my identity. Remember it well—I am Huo Qubing, Cavalry General of the Han Dynasty! I will never allow demons like you, who should have been sealed away long ago, to return to the human world!"
What was going on? Why did Starscream's spark become so agitated when he heard that name? It seemed there really was something on this planet that made every part of a Transformer feel uncomfortable. Yet Starscream still had no idea what it was, or how it affected his steel body.
"What exactly are these demons you keep talking about? Do you recognize this symbol?"
For some reason, Starscream desperately wanted to know what these ordinary humans were fighting for, and why they were willing to offer up their lives. Could all of this be related to the Decepticon insignia on his body?
This young man named Huo Qubing gave Starscream a feeling that was both familiar and strange, as though the name had once been recorded deep within his spark, yet no trace of it could be found.
Of course, Starscream rationally attributed all the strange sensations he had experienced since arriving on this planet to damaged sensors or circuit boards. It seemed that once he returned to Cybertron, he would have to recalibrate himself properly. After all, the universe was filled with far too much miscellaneous debris.
"You're the messenger of those demons, and you don't know it yourself? Back then, our ancestors spent countless efforts sealing you hateful creatures underground. Who would have thought the Xiongnu would find a way to set you free again! But remember this well—the heavens have eyes! Since creatures like you who represent darkness have revived, one day light will return to this land!"
What was this? A mighty Transformer robot was being threatened by a tiny human? This kid named Huo Qubing not only failed to answer his question, but also spouted a lot of incomprehensible, mystifying nonsense. Starscream found it both confusing and irritating.
"Looks like you don't intend to tell me the truth. Then let me send your two companions to that underworld you spoke of first. What do you think?"
Although the human before him was extremely uncooperative, Starscream had already analyzed the behavior of these humans through his systems and identified their weakness. Perhaps all three of them claimed not to fear death, but threatening the leader with the lives of his two subordinates might produce unexpected results.
"Wait! What exactly is wrong with you? As the demons' vanguard officer, don't you know what these Xiongnu are doing?"
This kid surnamed Huo did not seem particularly bright either. If Starscream knew the answer, would he need to ask these humans?
Whoosh!
Starscream naturally had no intention of continuing this pointless chatter with the humans. He gave only one response to Huo Qubing's words: he raised his gun and aimed it at the heads of the human's two companions.
The meaning was obvious. If Starscream did not receive an answer that satisfied him, the next moment would be when those two soldiers' heads burst open. This time, however, the kid named Huo Qubing finally understood Starscream's intent and hurriedly shouted to stop him.
"Wait, I'll talk, I'll talk! What these Xiongnu are searching for on this grassland is the Chiyou Tombstone. They want to revive that great demon king and his followers. Back then, our ancestor the Yellow Emperor had to exert every effort to drive those demons away. As a descendant of the Yan and Yellow Emperors, how could I stand by and watch the tragedy of the past repeat itself? So I discussed it with my brothers, and we came here together to sabotage the Xiongnu's plan, but..."
What was this? Chiyou? The Yellow Emperor?
This human before him was actually telling Starscream a mythological story that had been passed down on this planet for ages, yet the more Starscream listened, the more it sounded like an interstellar war described by an Earthling!
Because of the limitations in the knowledge and perspective of these ordinary humans, they often attributed things they could not understand to mysticism. But in Starscream's eyes, this information painted an entirely different scene.
For example, those red and green "spells" were very likely laser weapons, missiles, and the like used by Transformers in battle. Of course, it was also possible that they had been caused by fleets from other advanced civilizations visiting this planet.
And those towering fires, and giants capable of knocking down Mount Buzhou—it all sounded like the scene of a massive aerospace warship crashing into the ground. Everything incredible this human described seemed explainable through technology, which only made Starscream more interested.
"Fine! I never expected your planet to have such an interesting history. Then do you know the exact location of that Chi... whatever? I'd really like to see whether what you said is true."
In Starscream's view, the sealing or slumber these humans spoke of was more like the state of a spacecraft completely shutting down after running out of energy. Their ancestors had one hundred percent never seen anything like it, and after embellishing it a little, they turned a grand interstellar war into a myth of their own planet.
But clearly, a long time ago, two powerful interstellar forces had fought one another on this planet.
And considering how the Xiongnu had worshipped the Decepticon insignia on Starscream's chest, a basic deduction could be made: the Decepticons must have been involved in one of those two warring cosmic forces, and they had likely occupied the dominant position.
"The exact... exact location is uncertain even to us. I'm afraid even these Xiongnu aren't sure. We originally thought that this excavation would uncover it, but who would have thought..."
