After carefully reading the images and text on the light screen, Sun Cheng's eyes were still filled with confusion.
"Parallel world fusion?"
He tried to glean more information from the newly appeared light screen, but the result disappointed him. Even though Sun Cheng was already very close to it, no option to enter appeared like it had when he approached the other two light screens.
"World fusion? Which two worlds are merging? And what kind of world is [Jurassic Park]?"
After studying it for a while longer and still getting nowhere, Sun Cheng could only give up helplessly.
He turned and walked to the leftmost light screen. Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately chose to enter it, eager to return to the real world.
This journey into another world had truly been long and perilous for Sun Cheng.
Over the course of a month, he had stolen intelligence, infiltrated military bases, sneaked into Sector Seven, and fought battles of wits and courage with Starscream and Soundwave. Not only had he survived, but with the power of the [AllSpark], he had risen from the lowest-ranking Decepticon grunt into the ranks of the higher Decepticons.
From feeling uneasy when he first killed someone to becoming indifferent toward fragile lives.
From trembling with fear when he first deceived Starscream and Soundwave to calmly monopolizing information about the [AllSpark].
Sun Cheng had undergone a transformation that even he himself could clearly feel!
But it had exhausted him!
Right now, all he wanted was a peaceful sleep—to fall asleep without a care and dream without restraint!
Whoosh!
A watery blue light flashed. Accompanied by the strange sensation of his soul being pulled away and a brief spell of dizziness, Sun Cheng regained his senses and suddenly felt a weight on his body. The crushing heaviness made him feel suffocated, instantly jolting his mind awake.
Instinctively, he looked at the heavy object pressing down on him. His eyes soon lit up. The moment he raised his head, he saw a massive cabinet-like object covered in silver-gray metal pressing heavily against him. It was none other than the IBM server he had painstakingly upgraded and enhanced in the other world.
"Cough, cough..."
Pinned beneath a server weighing several hundred kilograms, he was already in considerable discomfort after only a short while.
Struggling, he barely propped it up and quickly pulled himself out from beneath the server. He curled up in one corner of his bed and began gasping for air.
The student dormitories at South Capital University of Technology used the common "bed-over-desk" layout found at universities across the country. The bed was probably sturdy enough to hold two people without issue, but adding a server that weighed several hundred kilograms was another matter entirely.
He glanced at the still-dark window. Once his eyes adjusted to the dimness in the dorm room, he climbed down by stepping on the computer desk below.
After digging a flashlight out of a drawer, Sun Cheng used it for illumination as he climbed back onto the bed. He righted the server, then opened its cabinet.
This enterprise-grade server, originally designed by IBM, had been a standard tower server.
However, when he later rebuilt and upgraded it, Sun Cheng had used the Decepticons' enhancement ability to make major adjustments. One of the most convenient changes was that its internal components, like those in rack-mounted and blade servers, could be easily detached and removed, making it convenient for him to upgrade its hardware in the real world.
Moreover, this arrangement had freed up some space inside the server. Taking advantage of that, Sun Cheng had carried out a second experiment.
Click!
The cabinet quickly opened, revealing the many components inside the server.
Holding up the flashlight, Sun Cheng did not spare even a glance for the hardware he had upgraded with Decepticon enhancement abilities in the other world. Instead, he looked directly at a black plastic box in the lower-right section of the server, one clearly different from all the other components.
He hurriedly pulled the black plastic box out of the server. Feeling its considerable weight, Sun Cheng could barely hide his excitement.
He was so eager that he even tossed the server aside on the bed for the time being. Carrying the black plastic box, he rushed down from the bed, pulled out a chair, and sat at the computer desk. Even his beloved laptop was roughly shoved aside.
Using the flashlight's beam, Sun Cheng impatiently opened the black plastic box.
The next second, when a yellow-and-black Taser X26 and a pitch-black Glock 17 pistol came into view, the irritation and faint unease that had been gathered between Sun Cheng's brows finally vanished completely.
His expression returned to calm. Sitting quietly at the desk, Sun Cheng picked up the Taser, fiddled with it for a moment before putting it back into the box. Then he picked up the Glock 17, the most widely used handgun in the United States, and examined it carefully.
Power decided everything!
This was the only truth he had realized during his brief month or so with the Decepticons.
Without power, no matter how much he schemed and calculated, he was still nothing more than a pawn who could be summoned at will and discarded just as easily in the eyes of others.
From Onslaught at Davis-Monthan Base and Barricade's slaughter, to being chased through Tucson like a stray dog by the Americans, and then to his wanton behavior after advancing in Sector Seven, everything proved the Decepticons' simple and brutal values.
Therefore, even though he knew the real world was far safer, having spent too long living in fear in the other world, he had still made thorough preparations.
Since heaven had given him a chance to choose for himself, Sun Cheng would never again let others determine his safety.
The strange sensation of the Glock 17's cold frame continuously stimulated Sun Cheng's nerves through his fingertips. His excitement and agitation gradually calmed, and even the traces of sleepiness vanished.
All things considered, this experiment had truly yielded a bountiful harvest.
After playing with the Glock 17 for quite a while, he finally placed it back in the box and carefully put it away. Sun Cheng then stood again and looked at the heavy server on his bed, his eyes shining brightly.
The last time he returned to the real world, he had brought back the Level 2 core Starscream had given him.
Although he had been terribly frightened afterward, Sun Cheng had indeed come to understand its value, as well as what that coincidence represented.
That was why he had conducted such a careful experiment before this return.
Before confirming his return to reality, Sun Cheng had prepared not only a bag of diamonds and gold worth nearly ten million dollars, but also this equally valuable server and the weapons hidden inside it.
Then he returned to the real world once more.
Although he had failed to bring back the valuable bag of diamonds and gold, which left him rather regretful, the other server he had also used for the experiment, along with the weapons hidden inside it, had returned with him to reality. Sun Cheng quickly cast aside that slight regret.
A surge of wild joy finally became impossible to contain, bursting forth within him.
Although Sun Cheng had only conducted a single experiment and there was still much he could not confirm—for instance, whether only electronic devices could be brought back, or whether two-way transportation was possible—
Lowering his head to look at his hands, Sun Cheng felt for the first time in his life with absolute clarity that these hands had never been as powerful as they were today.
