Goldbug (Part 2)

Bumblebee's consciousness recovered faster than expected. Before long, the blue light shining from his eyes had vanished.

In its place was a somewhat bewildered expression!

"Bumblebee, welcome back!"

Optimus Prime could tell that Bumblebee had only just awakened and had not yet fully absorbed the memories within his core.

Hearing Optimus Prime's voice, he instinctively turned to look at him.

Optimus Prime merely smiled as he walked up to him, gently patting his shoulder. "I'm Optimus Prime. Welcome back, Bumblebee!"

"Bumblebee... is that my name?"

Bumblebee fell silent for a moment before shaking his head. "I don't like that name!"

He looked at his hands. The golden-yellow color on his arms and chest armor seemed to give him an idea. "Goldbug... Call me Goldbug."

All the Autobots in the laboratory froze, while Ratchet let out a soft sigh.

He already understood what had happened to Bumblebee!

The reason the Autobots had always been so resistant to the Awakening Project for fallen Autobots was, aside from the fact that most Autobots had been led by certain interested parties to fear that their privacy would be exposed.

There was another, even more important reason: an awakened fallen Autobot might undergo a drastic personality change after waking up.

A personality change, as the name implied, meant that when some dead Autobots were reawakened, even if they retained all the memories of their former selves, they could still develop a personality utterly different from before during this process of defying life and death.

For example, although the old Bumblebee had been very professional while carrying out missions, every Autobot who truly knew him understood that Bumblebee was extremely impulsive by nature—witty and humorous, but also reckless and thoughtless.
