A squad member had gone offline in the communications channel. Sun Cheng, who was locked in combat with Onslaught over a hundred meters away, instantly understood what had happened.

He was already having a difficult time fighting Onslaught, so aside from briefly diverting some attention to the battlefield at the very beginning, Sun Cheng had focused all his energy on Onslaught afterward.

The fierce battle against this senior Decepticon commander rapidly advanced Sun Cheng's previously stalled progress in mastering his new body.

This veteran powerhouse put far too much pressure on Sun Cheng. Especially after Onslaught became somewhat enraged and shifted from probing attacks to lethal strikes, Sun Cheng's injuries began mounting quickly. Naturally, he dared not let his attention wander.

Strictly speaking, their raw strength was about evenly matched.

Sun Cheng had more or less gauged Onslaught's strength. Like him, Onslaught was stuck at the threshold of Leader-class.

Sun Cheng possessed a body comparable to that of a Leader, but he could not unleash its full potential. It was already impressive if he could bring out twenty or thirty percent of his combat power.

Onslaught, meanwhile, was the exact opposite. After millions of years of battle and exploration, he had developed his body's potential to nearly its limit, and his combat experience surpassed Sun Cheng's by several hundred streets.

But it would not be easy for Onslaught to defeat him either!

His current state was somewhat strange, as though he had yet to complete some qualitative transformation.

Leaders were called Leaders because once Cybertronians advanced to this rank, they underwent an essential transformation.

Their AllSparks held more abundant energy, their bodies became stronger and sturdier, and their combat instincts, learning ability, and many other aspects all experienced dramatic leaps.

The current Onslaught clearly still fell quite short
