Led by Major Hawes, the group quickly entered the inconspicuous wooden house next door.

This was a common type of home in the western United States, occupying a little over a hundred square meters. Its exterior walls were made of wooden planks, while low wooden fences and barbed wire enclosed an area of more than four thousand square meters around it.

The CIA had disguised it to look almost exactly like an ordinary residence, but the moment the group entered, they quickly noticed something unusual.

Two fully armed sentries stood guard inside the house.

Major Hawes led the group to the wooden staircase and opened a wooden door set into the wall beneath it.

"Please."

He entered first and descended a winding staircase. With the corridor lights on, it did not feel dark.

Following the stairs down, the group soon arrived in a cramped basement of barely a dozen square meters.

Major Hawes walked straight to one wall of the basement, skillfully felt around until he lifted a cover, revealing an operating panel embedded in the wall.

He took out a card and inserted it into a slot, then entered a password. An iris-scanning interface soon appeared.

Major Hawes leaned closer and let the iris scanner sweep across his eyes.

The next moment, the wall before him emitted a low hum.

Then, that section of wall slid apart to either side, revealing an elevator large enough to carry more than a dozen people at once.

"Gentlemen, please."

After everyone entered the elevator, Major Hawes entered "-22" on the panel.

With a rapid descent that felt as though gravity had vanished, the elevator doors opened again, revealing a secret base deep beneath Conger Town.

The first thing they saw after the elevator doors opened was several more armed sentries standing guard.
