Sun Cheng's gaze lingered briefly on the headless body with its chest split open before he looked away.
"Prepare to replace Jetfire's body!"
he reminded them.
"Yes!" Khonsu nodded and waved his hand. Three Decepticon engineers who had long been standing by immediately approached.
One of the three Decepticon engineers lifted Jetfire's torso, while the other two each carried a leg. They quickly moved his new body onto a metal platform that slowly rose from the laboratory floor.
"Commander, please wait a moment. I need to take part in this operation as well!"
"Mm."
With Sun Cheng's nod, Khonsu stepped forward and began to work.
Sun Cheng watched intently from the side. It was no easy task for the four Decepticon engineers to replace Jetfire's body; there was a certain degree of risk involved in the process.
The body inspections handled by the other three Decepticon engineers were manageable. What they needed to address was the possible rejection that might occur after transplanting Jetfire's brain, spine, and AllSpark into the new body.
This was no joke!
For Cybertronians, replacing a body was much like humans replacing organs—or even undergoing brain transplant surgery. Rejection was also possible.
The difference was that humanity's current technology could not yet fundamentally eliminate rejection by modifying cellular structures, or even deeper genomic information, once it occurred.
Cybertronian technology could minimize rejection as much as possible, though there would still be some aftereffects.
For instance, after replacing a body that produced a relatively severe rejection response, more time would be needed to adapt to the new body.
Sun Cheng paid close attention to every technological development within the Transformers Multiverse. Though he was not a professional scientist, he never begrudged the time spent reading and absorbing the various technologies under his command, intending to bring them
