The Ruthless Fear Those Who Have Nothing to Lose
The electromagnetic cannon struck its target, but Hong Mo did not stop. Instant Activation! Electricity surged wildly as he shot forward, crossing the short distance and closing in on where Su Mu had fallen.
Hey, do you know Chidori? That famous move from the hit anime Naruto ten years ago.
A fierce electric glow wrapped around Hong Mo's right hand. Currents continuously gathered in his palm, and the blinding light forced anyone watching to shut their eyes.
When he had first awakened his ability, Hong Mo had considered copying this technique. But after some experimentation, he discovered that his body could not withstand it. Yes, his body could not withstand it. Concentrating such a powerful current in his hand would cause irreversible damage. This was not a manga, after all, and Hong Mo did not have energy like CKL to protect himself.
But now that he had high-speed regeneration as a foundation, even self-destructive attacks were worth trying. His right hand, shrouded in electric light, had already been charred black, and the tips of his fingers constantly turned to ash under the impact.
I'll make you high and mighty people understand what the madness of a nobody is!
"Stop him, or Su Mu is finished." Qin An immediately realized something was wrong. He had not expected this target to be so difficult to deal with. Once he started attacking, wave after wave followed without the slightest pause.
Long Hanyu lunged forward. As he ran, the dragon-shaped tattoo on his body wriggled as though it had come alive, rapidly spreading over his entire body. A thick, savage right hand that looked nothing like a human's blocked Hong Mo's path.
Boom!
A massive explosion erupted where the two collided. Starting from his fingers, Hong Mo's right arm crumbled and burst apart continuously, flesh and blood spraying in all directions like minced meat. Fragments of bone from his hand scattered everywhere, until only a section of pale bone remained in his right forearm.
Long Hanyu's strange right hand did not fare much better. Beginning from the center of his palm, it was sliced open by the sharp "Chidori," and dark red blood sprayed out.
Unlike Hong Mo's madness, Long Hanyu merely groaned. The muscles in his right hand twisted for a moment before turning back into a dragon-claw tattoo on his back. Meanwhile, the arm that had reverted to a human right hand was torn open from the palm all the way to the elbow.
What a ferocious attack. That was a dragon claw! Though it was not a real dragon, Qin An, as his teammate, knew exactly how tough that thing was.
Qin An was secretly shocked. Then he saw Hong Mo's bare right arm and a glimmer of understanding flashed through his eyes. This guy was ruthless—ruthless toward others, and even more ruthless toward himself. He had thrown away an arm just for a single killing blow.
Not far away, Su Mu lay limply on the ground without moving.
Hong Mo looked over, his eyes narrowing. Didn't it hit her? The cheongsam around Su Mu's body had not been damaged at all—not even a single tear.
Sure enough, no superpowered person could be underestimated.
"I'll hold him off. Go see how Su Mu is doing." By now, Long Hanyu had completely turned into something inhuman. With a dragon-or-serpent-like head and dark red scales covering his body, aside from his reverted right hand, he was practically a dragonman.
Transformation? Mutation?
Hong Mo did not act rashly. He had never seen the other man's ability before and did not know what made it special.
Qin An ran to Su Mu, helped her up, checked her heartbeat and breathing, then spoke. "She's fine. Still alive. The shock was just too great, so she passed out. She's probably suffered some internal injuries."
They're huge! Qin An sighed inwardly, his right hand still gripping Su Mu's chest.
"She'll kill you if she finds out." Long Hanyu seemed to have noticed Qin An's little move and spoke without turning around.
"I was only checking her heartbeat. Her heartbeat." Qin An immediately defended himself.
That was the super electromagnetic cannon, then. Almost every electromagnetism-type superpowered person knew a move like that, but few could achieve such power. It had actually failed to completely break through even Su Mu's air barrier, yet the violent shock had still knocked her unconscious.
There was no longer a crowd nearby. The ordinary people had long since fled in terror. Even the boldest ones did not dare stay to watch the excitement. People might naturally enjoy spectacle, but not to the point of throwing away their lives.
Not dead!
Hearing Qin An say that Su Mu was not dead, Hong Mo's heart sank. This woman truly could not be underestimated. His gaze hardened as he attacked again. His left hand suddenly stretched out, firing a bolt of lightning as thick as an arm through the air toward Su Mu on the ground. Strike while she was down and take her life—Hong Mo felt not the slightest pity. The unconscious Su Mu was undoubtedly his top priority.
The lightning was incredibly fast, but the moment Hong Mo swung his left hand, Qin An had already moved in front of Su Mu. Nine exquisite flying swords spun through the air, blocking the bolt of lightning. Qin An then conveniently threw himself over Su Mu.
"Just keep pretending. It's lightning, not a physical impact. You can't block it? You even threw yourself on top of her. You don't have to be so obvious about copping a feel." Long Hanyu could not stand it any longer. He was here guarding against Hong Mo, while Qin An was taking advantage of Su Mu on the side. No matter how he looked at it, it was irritating.
Bastard!
Anger rose in Hong Mo's heart, but the angrier he became, the calmer he was. You're playing around, are you? Fine, then play. Let's see how far you can take it.
His right foot stomped heavily on the ground, and electricity began spreading outward from Hong Mo. Maximum voltage! The current twisted and pulled through the air, producing a crackling screech. The air was electrolyzed, making everything around them appear hazy.
Damn it, we went too far!
Long Hanyu's heart skipped a beat. He pushed off the ground and charged out, his left dragon claw thrusting straight toward Hong Mo's heart.
Die! Aaaah!
Hong Mo roared as violent currents blasted forward. This tiny street became like a Thunder Domain. The savage electric assault continued for more than ten seconds before finally stopping.
Much of the steel scattered across the ground had melted. Glowing red molten metal slowly flowed over the pavement. Thin wisps of smoke rose within a hundred-meter radius.
In the distance, a reporter recorded everything through high-powered binoculars. Suddenly, he focused the lens on Hong Mo. Two charred humanoid figures were connected together, neither moving for a long while.
Crack!
Suddenly, one of the figures moved. A scale-covered left arm slowly pulled free from Hong Mo's chest. Drops of blood fell one by one onto the scorching ground, giving off faint black smoke.
Was it over?
Pain wracked Long Hanyu's entire body, and he could no longer maintain his Dragon Tattoo Transformation. The scales over his body suddenly retracted, becoming a red dragon tattoo covering his upper body once more. At this moment, the tattoo was no longer vividly red, but pale red. Some parts had even become blurry and indistinct.
All at once, Hong Mo's left hand shot out and grabbed Long Hanyu's right hand. At the same time, he raised his own right arm and viciously drove the white, broken forearm bone into Long Hanyu's throat. In that instant, the surroundings became incomparably silent, with only the soft sound of the wind passing by.
Though the ordinary bystanders had stopped gathering nearby, quite a few people farther away were watching through binoculars. No matter what, a battle between superpowered people was a rare sight. The moment Hong Mo's broken right arm bone pierced Long Hanyu's throat, everyone froze.
This guy was brutal!
"No... impossible. I clearly crushed your heart." Long Hanyu's face was filled with disbelief as he spoke word by word, blood continuously spilling from his mouth.
Hong Mo's eyes turned ruthless. His right arm twisted again, and a grinding creak sounded as the bone scraped against Long Hanyu's neck bones. Crack! With a violent wrench, Hong Mo sent Long Hanyu's head flying to the ground. Long Hanyu's eyes remained wide open, his face still full of disbelief.
Wow!
Hong Mo spat out a mouthful of blood, then noticed that the fist-sized hole in his chest was surrounded by constantly writhing muscles as it began to heal. High-speed regeneration truly was a powerful ability. Otherwise, he would have been finished this time. Hong Mo glanced at his right arm again. Better keep restricting its regeneration for now; he did not have any spare matter or energy at the moment. Cell division was not limitless, either.
Hong Mo looked into the distance. Qin An was shielding Su Mu beneath the protection of his flying swords. Dozens of flying swords formed a circle, linked together above by an umbrella-shaped structure. Qin An was sprawled over Su Mu. Though bluish smoke rose from his body, he did not seem to have suffered much damage.
A lightning rod? So this guy had more than just ten flying swords.
There was no telling what material those flying swords had been forged from. Even after such a massive electric shock, they had only melted slightly and still retained their sword-like shape.
Su Mu opened her dazed eyes. The first thing she saw was Qin An's face, then she realized that one of her breasts was in his hand. Slap! Slap! Slap! Three slaps landed without the slightest pause, requiring no reason at all. Then Qin An was kicked away.
What a pitiful bastard!
Su Mu climbed to her feet and looked around at the chaotic scene in confusion. It felt as though she had not been unconscious for long. What exactly had happened? The sight before her was a little too horrifying.
Just as Su Mu was bewildered, a sharp steel bar shot toward her forehead. Instinctively, Su Mu raised her right hand before herself. The steel bar seemed to plunge into a thick mass of cotton; its speed immediately slowed before it finally came to a stop.
You...! Rage surged through Su Mu as she glared fiercely at the somewhat charred figure in the distance.
What a shame. Hong Mo sighed inwardly. That move had used too much electricity, and with his heart regenerating as well, he did not have much energy left.
It was you! Only now did Su Mu finally recognize Hong Mo. It seemed that this man was the culprit behind this entire incident. Then she suddenly spotted Long Hanyu lying on the ground, along with the head not far away.
Long Hanyu was actually dead, and Qin An seemed to have been knocked unconscious by the electricity as well. What exactly had happened? Su Mu shook her head and stood up. A soft hum sounded around her body as a current of air swept outward, blowing away the rubble at her feet and revealing a small circle.
Wind, airflow? Atmospheric control within matter control? Seeing this, along with that earlier kick, Hong Mo gained a vague understanding of Su Mu's ability.
Su Mu hovered half an inch above the ground, floating in the air as she stared coldly at Hong Mo. She could feel the condition of her body. Though there were no visible wounds on the surface, her internal organs had indeed been injured. It had been a long time since she had last been hurt. She had not expected this man to knock her unconscious and injure her.
Rather than mourning her teammate's death, Su Mu was thinking only about how Hong Mo had hurt her.
