Background

Gu Xin was originally an 18-year-old college student from Earth. Half a year before the story, he crossed into a world where magic and battle aura are real, awakening within the body of another Gu Xin. His father was absent, his mother had died from illness, and his younger sister had reportedly been abducted years earlier. His mother left him an inheritance of five million, most of which he spent pursuing card making. 4

Rather than become a mage or knight, Gu Xin chose to become a card maker. He views powerful cards as both a route to personal strength and a means to empower others, while also aspiring to become a legendary card maker whose creations are sought after worldwide. 4 35

He operates Blue Star Card Shop near Yin City University, using its attached laboratory and an alchemy furnace to refine cards. He later hires Toyokawa Shoko as the shop’s first employee, providing her with lodging, food, and a salary. 15 31
