When their heated kiss ended, Konoe Hitomi was breathing a little hard. She felt terribly shy, but she forced her face to remain calm and shot him a flat stare. "Shameless!"
"That was just payback for the time you suddenly kissed me," Natsume Chikage said with a smile.
Remembering how she had kissed him out of jealousy, Hitomi grew even more embarrassed. But she refused to let him tease her so easily. She used to be the one who teased him.
Her tone turned playful. "So how are you planning to get them to agree? Don't tell me you want to do it but have no way to make it happen. If that's the case, you'd better give up before everyone at school starts calling you a flirt."
"Of course I have a way."
"What is it?" Hitomi paused and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well... I can't tell you yet." Chikage shook his head.
"Why not? What's so secret about it?"
"Because the method is a little unusual... It can't get out, or it'll cause trouble. But if my future wife wanted to know, I suppose I could tell her." Chikage winked.
Hitomi blushed faintly but immediately refused. "Then forget it. Take your time telling your future wife. I don't want to hear it."
"Is that so? What a shame." Chikage smiled and took Hitomi's hand.
"What are you doing? Let go." Hitomi tried to pull free.
Chikage refused to release her. "It's Ruri's birthday today. Will you come over? She'd be really happy if you did."
Hitomi narrowed her eyes at him. "You're just using your sister's birthday as an excuse to invite me over, aren't you?"
"You're overthinking it. Ruri asked me herself to find out whether you'd come."
"I don't believe you."
