Deadpool found it so funny he was practically enjoying the show. He thought this old man was really interesting and wanted to throw more, only to discover the melon seeds in his hand were gone. He looked at Li Ang and Tony, and found the two of them silently looking at him too.
The three of them stared at one another. Li Ang rummaged through his clean pockets and said unhappily, "Hey, this old man's way too dishonest. If you wanted some, just say so. Why steal my melon seeds?"
The onlookers rolled their eyes hard. Was this really the time to think about melon seeds?
This was about New York!
They had no idea what building this blue house belonged to. Coulson pushed at the door in the back, but it would not open. The only blue wooden door at the front, however, had been left with a crack.
Shield in hand, Steve was the first to reach the door. He called out to the others, then pushed it open and stepped out.
Whoosh.
Standing on an empty street, Steve looked around. The ground was shattered, buildings had collapsed, and cars were crushed flat. The city looked dead, ruins filling everything he could see.
In the distance, a huge red inverted pyramid connected heaven and earth. Countless human figures hovered densely around the pyramid, chanting spells at the top of their voices and stirring ripples through the surrounding red mist.
"This is... New York?"
Earlier, they had been crazily hunted by those infected and had had no time to observe what had happened. Looking at it now, it was hard not to feel disbelief, as though one second it had still been a bustling metropolis, and the next it was already an apocalyptic ruin.
Steve took several deep breaths
