Clapping his hands, Constantine had to admire his plan.
"Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Like a mosquito trapped under a glass, dreaming some Arabian Nights fantasy of toppling the giant outside the cup."
"If I'd met you somewhere else, I really would've wanted to have a drink with you."
His mouth offered sincere praise, and Constantine raised his hand and fired.
The shot came without the slightest warning, fast and precise. The spinning bullet tore through the curtain of rain, pierced Alan's forehead, and blasted out a fist-sized bloody hole.
"Tsk, tsk."
Lowering the golden shotgun in his hand, Constantine curled his lip in disdain.
"I lied. A sinister bastard like you only lets me sleep easy when you're lying obediently in a grave!"
A hole had been blasted clean through Alan's forehead from front to back, but his body still stood perfectly straight, showing no sign of falling.
Suddenly, he spoke.
"Constantine, you disappoint me. I thought you could understand me, at least a little—"
Bang!
A bullet blew his mouth apart.
"Mate, don't glare at me like that. It's exactly because I understand what you're thinking that I want to send a madman like you straight to hell!"
Caw, caw caw!
After hearing Constantine's words, the crows circling overhead reflected Alan's current mood very well. They dove down savagely, swooping toward Constantine with thick killing intent in their claws.
Crack!
A bottle filled with holy water exploded among the flock, and a fairly large number of
