Thirty minutes later.
George Stacy, commissioner of the New York Police Department, received the report and led a large contingent of officers to surround the area.
In the night wind, the river flowed quietly, and the vessel lay still as a ghost.
"Commissioner George, it's definitely those human traffickers again. I recognize this ship!"
"What the hell is the Coast Guard even doing?"
"Fuck. Those damned maggots deserve to go straight to hell!"
"..."
Amid the murmurs, Commissioner George pressed at his constantly twitching left eye, suppressing the unease in his heart as he waved his hand irritably.
"Enough nonsense. Let's go up and take a look."
With guns in hand, the officers carefully covered one another as they climbed aboard one by one.
Following the thick stench of blood in the air, they advanced cautiously in a cross-cover formation and soon reached the cabin door.
Several of them exchanged glances before violently pulling the door open.
Click.

Walking through the streets of Hell's Kitchen.
Through the system's power, Li Chao temporarily transferred his consciousness into Fire Cloud Evil God.
Character cards drawn through the system possessed their own thought patterns and personalities. Once summoned, they could freely act according to the character backgrounds Li Chao had created, while Li Chao retained absolute control over all character cards and items.
Possessing a character card like this was even less worth mentioning—a mere trifle.
Suddenly, he halted.
"The police found them?"
Though somewhat unexpected, it had no impact whatsoever on his next plan.
Based on the information he had interrogated from the ship captain before his death, Li Chao quickly arrived outside a club.
Two burly men in black suits stood on either side of the entrance. They were broad and powerfully built, with bulging pockets that clearly concealed guns.
"Hey, stop right there. This isn't a place for someone like you!"
Seeing Li Chao walking straight toward them, their expressions changed as they waved him away.
A flicker of disdain passed through his eyes as Fire Cloud Evil God, possessed by Li Chao, spoke indifferently.
"Is Madame Gao inside?"
The instant those words left his mouth, the two men's expressions changed drastically. They covertly exchanged a glance, stepped forward, and swiftly drew their pistols, viciously pressing them against Li Chao's forehead.
"You damned old man, how did you kno—"
As they spoke, they reached out with veined arms to grab Fire Cloud Evil God by the collar. But Fire Cloud Evil God had already gotten the answer he wanted from their reaction and could not be bothered to listen further.
He raised both hands. His movements were gentle, and though they did not seem fast, they somehow struck first, each hand landing on one of their wrists.
Amid screams and the crackling of shattering bones, a cruel smile spread across his face.
"Looks like... I found the right place."
Thud.
Madame Gao's cane struck the floor heavily. Her lips curled coldly as she looked down from above at the subordinate kneeling before her.
"You can't even handle such a trivial matter. What use are you to me?"
The scolded man broke out in a cold sweat and trembled all over.
"Madame Gao, p-please... please give me one more chance.
"I'll definitely get to the bottom of it this time!"
They had agreed to meet the human traffickers' ship captain at Pier 13 today to hand over the "goods."
It was not as though this was their first time doing such business. Everyone was well versed in the process.
Yet not only had something happened to the ship captain, but the underlings he had sent to make the exchange had also died, while that batch of "goods" had been released by someone unknown.
What rotten luck!
Thinking of Madame Gao's cruel methods, the man prostrated himself on the floor, sweat pouring straight down his body in terror.
Clatter.
A knife was tossed in front of the man. Madame Gao's expression was kind, but her tone was exceptionally cold.
"Don't blame me. These are the rules."
Hearing this, the man did not dare hesitate. He grabbed the dagger and, without a word, chopped off his own left pinky.
The pain was so intense that he did not even dare cry out. With trembling hands, he held up the dagger, cold sweat streaming down his face as he nervously made his promise.
"Madame Gao, I will find out who sabotaged this deal.
Please rest assured. Within three days, I—I will bring you his head."
After waiting for a moment, Madame Gao slowly nodded.
".Very good.
Anyone who dares offend The Hand will pay the pri—"
Boom—!
With a tremendous blast, the doors were violently blown inward from outside.
Amid the billowing dust, a figure slowly walked in from beyond the doorway.
Tap.
"Oh? Then today, I'd like to see exactly what price you're talking about."
"Who are you?!"
Madame Gao's expression changed. With a wave of her hand, she summoned the underlings on either side to shield her.
Fire Cloud Evil God did not answer her question. Instead, he gave her a strange once-over, then spoke in a certain tone.
"Madame Gao."
She looked no different from her image in the film and television series, so Fire Cloud Evil God had recognized her at a glance.
This is bad. He's here with hostile intentions!
Her gaze turned cold as she discreetly made several gestures behind her back.
The next moment—
Bang bang bang bang!
The surrounding underlings pulled out submachine guns and opened fire on Fire Cloud Evil God.
The bullets left their barrels, rippling through the air as they sped toward Fire Cloud Evil God.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
"Firearms? Hehe~"
Standing where he was, Fire Cloud Evil God moved both hands, leaving behind countless afterimages.
When the gunfire finally died down and the room fell silent again, those people stared at him nervously as if they were looking at some prehistoric monster.
With his hands spread open, Fire Cloud Evil God remained calm as he let the bullets fall from his palms one by one like grains of sand. Their clattering against the floor struck everyone's hearts like massive hammers.

Catching bullets with his bare hands—was he even human?
Madame Gao had lived for over four hundred years. What had she not seen?
Yet before this scene, she felt as if she had seen a ghost in broad daylight!
Just as she was thinking this, she suddenly saw the old-man-looking fellow spit several more bullets out of his mouth.

Lowering her body and pushing off with her feet, Madame Gao sprang away like a monkey, bouncing several times as she prepared to flee.
Fire Cloud Evil God mockingly raised one hand. How could he possibly let Madame Gao leave this place?
"Hmph. Do you think you can run?"
