The low, hoarse voices had lost all emotional fluctuation. Nothing remained in their eyes but a mechanical coldness and emptiness—the emptiness that had once belonged only to low-grade metal robots.
From the Six-Ring True Spirit Wizard's lofty perspective as a Sovereign, these lifeless creatures resembled masses of black fog. This was an exceedingly rare phenomenon in the material-energy world. Even Sovereigns could not clearly discern the specific properties or energy levels within that black fog. Though these terrifying monsters dwelling in the deepest illusion of the Dimensional Esophagus had yet to break through to the Sovereign level and possess Omnipotent Souls, their development at the limits of Level Six World Lords had already reached—and even surpassed—the furthest limit material-energy World Lords could imagine!
Within the resource-starved Dimensional Esophagus, these utterly vicious monsters had to face not only the slaughter and plunder of other monsters, but also the ravages of the Endless World's digestion laws. Often, the older a monster lived, the more it possessed power ordinary beings could never comprehend!
These were not one or two monsters, nor a dozen or even several dozen. They gathered by settlements, in vast swarms that blotted out the sky!
No one in the outside world could understand how these monsters, in order to escape the Dimensional Esophagus, would use their lowly lives to besiege higher lifeforms. Their will to kill remained unmoved even by death itself, all for that sliver of possibility and hope.
