Nature and Terminology

The Dimensional Esophagus is one of the Endless World's deepest illusory worlds. Wizards historically call it Lightstream Reversal World or Radiant Light Reversal, while beings of the Endless World use “Dimensional Esophagus.” It is described as the Endless World's digestive tract, the final battlefield of dimensional wars, and the destination corresponding to the origin point of the Endless World. 1159 1793

It lies above the Dimension Gap, which Green considers the more absurd and terrifying illusory world beneath it. Antonio's deductions place possible higher-dimensional planes beyond the Dimension Gap. 1159

Environment and Laws

Digestive Laws

The Esophagus continuously “digests” trapped lifeforms. Its inhabitants survive through mutual slaughter, plunder, and limited data bases rather than natural energy supplies. 1167 2094

• Exiles are gradually worn down between life and death; even creatures kept as pets ration scarce moss to prolong survival. 1801
• The longer a monster endures, the greater and more abnormal its power can become, but age offers no guarantee of escape. 1159 1741
• Its internal struggle and its transformation into other illusory worlds resemble a stomach grinding indigestible food while drawing in further illusory worlds. 1167
• The Esophagus can communicate with phenomena from deep illusory worlds and even summon the rule-will of the Endless World. 1168

Space-Time

Space-time within the Dimensional Esophagus is exceptionally stable and distorted in scale. 1800 1810

• Higher altitude corresponds to larger space-time units; even tens of thousands of kilometers of flight may amount proportionally to only a few centimeters, making escape by distance effectively impossible. 1810
• For an ordinary Overlord, forcing a descent from material-energy spacetime while preserving a return clue would consume enough Omnipotent Soul to cause despair. 1800

Inhabitants

The Esophagus gathers refugees and extreme lifeforms from different world clusters, civilizations, and eras. Its population includes monsters, exiles, World Lords, Sovereigns, and beings who entered voluntarily for knowledge or evolutionary clues. 1159 1232

• Most inhabitants are trapped and desperate to return to the material-energy world; revealing that one can return makes that individual a target for replacement or seizure. 1793
• Even creatures that have not reached Sovereign level may develop their Level Six World Lord abilities beyond limits imaginable in material-energy worlds. 1741
• Settlements form around contested resources, intelligence, escape routes, or specialized social structures. 1795 1802
• The Hope Coffin Gathering Place is guarded by selected “Coffin Ascenders,” who protect a matrix that triggers Dimension Gap phenomena; even Sovereigns are ordered to stay outside its protective range. 1232
• The Penetrating Gate Gathering Place accumulates powerful residents over time and has attempted to hunt Sovereigns. 1232

Dimensional Wars

Dimensional wars are the Esophagus's greatest crises: competing dimensional legions force their way through layers of illusory worlds, enter the Esophagus, and seek to break the dimensional shackles of the Endless World. 1815

War Cycle

Dimensional wars can last from an extremely short decisive confrontation to hundreds of years in ordinary campaigns, or thousands to tens of thousands of years when a “box within a box” dimensional secret is involved. 1826

Entrances and Escape Routes

Entry

• Powerful beings may enter through Penetrating Gates or other spacetime passages, though constructing a direct route through increasingly deep layers of illusion can require centuries. 2087
• The Fate Lever Magic Staff can send a traveler into the Lightstream Reversal Illusory World. 1793
• The Abyssal Devil Race prepared for nearly ten eras to establish forces and intelligence networks inside the Esophagus before launching its expedition. 2087

Escape

Known or rumored escape methods are exceptionally rare:

• Surviving a Time Storm — Simba recounts a legend of a bizarre lifeform that escaped this way. 1159
• Defeating a Sovereign — a horde of ancient monsters reportedly killed a Sovereign, divided its Sovereign Soul, and allowed several survivors to escape. 1159
• Exploiting dimensional-war incursions — World Lord legions occasionally break in, creating a dangerous possible opening. 1159
• Dark Gate — a spatial-temporal fluctuation discovered by Green that permits departure from the Dimensional Esophagus. 1842

Notable Events

• Green's first stay — Green enters voluntarily seeking blood from a dead member of his race as a clue toward higher evolution. He learns from the Golden Lion Simba that the Esophagus has imprisoned some lifeforms for tens of thousands of years. 1159
• Hope Coffin matrix — Green joins Demon Doll, Paper Person, and Fire-Poison Centipede as a Coffin Ascender, charged with guarding the matrix beneath the Hope Coffin. 1232
• Return of Milly — Milly enters through the Sixth-Ring True Spirit Sorcerer's power, survives a Time Storm by burying herself in Bone Land, and emerges among surrounding monsters. 1793
• Angel–Card People war — Two dimensional-war legions enter through separate Gates, turning the Esophagus into a battlefield and resource zone for the Angel Race and Card People. 1815 1825
• Postwar decline — After the war, the barrier erodes and only one in ten thousand former refugees remains. 1857
