Just then, bubbles rose from the pitch-black spring. Driven by trillions upon trillions of pitch-black tadpoles no larger than fingernails, an altar slowly rose from the black pool, suddenly releasing an absurd, ominous aura utterly different from the Dimensional Esophagus.
The altar resembled a pyramid, piled from unknown minerals. Yet the gaps between those pyramid stones were bonded with flesh and blood, sinister and cruel.
At the altar's summit, nine ancient bronze lamps of blood wax extended from the mouths of ghost-faced beasts.
At the sight, Milly understood almost instantly and shouted at the golden giant, "What are you hesitating for? Why aren't you attacking?"
In the golden giant's hand, the seven-colored rainbow sprite struggled incessantly, yet could not break free from the golden hand that gripped it like a steel hoop. Its body had already changed from the form of a little bee into fluttering petals.
The golden giant looked toward the Ice Crystal Phoenix, then at the Yingu Warlock and the altar beneath him, unable to make up his mind.
Milly's contract with the golden giant contained no clause about joining forces against the Yingu Warlock; it merely concerned guiding the way and each dealing with their own target. But since they were allies at this moment, if they joined hands, then even with the altar's support, the Yingu Warlock should have had no chance of resisting Milly.
"Ah..."
Yet after a brief hesitation, amid the seven-colored rainbow sprite's hysterical screams, the golden giant stuffed it into his enormous mouth and chewed with a "crunch, crunch." The screams gradually subsided, and with a "gulp," the seven-colored rainbow sprite was swallowed into the golden giant's belly.
Then, without paying the slightest heed to Milly's request to join forces, the golden giant resolutely turned and left. Only
