After walking for the time it took an incense stick to burn, Luo Yunji could go no farther. A white "web" stretched across the deep pit below. Looking closely, he saw that it was woven from the Strange Objects' tangled limbs—the "cracks" he had seen on the ruby above.
Their eyes were closed, as though they were asleep. Their faces bore no expression, like masks, and they lay motionless across the web like human-faced spiders. Just as Luo Yunji was about to retreat, all the Strange Objects suddenly opened their eyes. Their black pupils rolled around in their sockets before fixing on him in unison.
Luo Yunji immediately sprang backward. Then he planted his foot, and the boom of breaking air echoed through the cave. His body shot out of the narrow passage, and he used Soaring Crane to surge upward.
The air's explosive boom seemed to stir up a hornet's nest. Countless Strange Objects burst from below and leaped up, reaching for Luo Yunji, but none managed to grab him. They seemed unable to fly, so they clambered rapidly upward over one another, piling into a cone-shaped "meat tower" in an instant.
Watching the Strange Objects pile higher and higher, Luo Yunji stamped his feet and reached the mouth of the cave in just a few breaths, shooting straight out. After leaving the secret chamber, he didn't pause for a moment, quickly making his way out of the study.
Deep in the cavern of the secret chamber, a figure slowly emerged from the sea of blood at the bottom and opened his eyes. His black pupils stared straight upward. After a moment, he closed them again and sank back into the blood.
The commotion Luo Yunji had caused grew more and more intense. In the end, the entire Huqi
